One of the best bands I saw during this years FREE WEEK was a band called Pop Pistol. They played our co-sponsored show with Austin Vida and everyone was blown away by them and what was funny is that they weren't even from Austin but rather San Antonio. Earlier this month, Jack White celebrated the third anniversary of his label Third Man Records with a big bash in Nashville. As a party favor, every guest left with a special 3 RPM record. The full line up for the 2012 Austin Psych Fest is here! This year the party goes down at the brand new Emo's East and Beauty Ballroom located at 2015 East Riverside. The band posted on their official website and Twitter accounts last night that The Morning Benders were no more and that the band has re-emerged with a new name: Pop ETC . The band has posted a long explanation of why they decided to change their name on the Morning Benders' website [ HERE ]. Sigur Ros is releasing a new album, Valtari, on May 28. The album will apparently have seven tracks, and premiering today on the Icelandic band’s website is the nearly 8-minute track “Ekki Múkk”.
