I had just played a show in Denver at The Summit Music Hall when I was offered guest passes to see Explosions in the Sky at The Fillmore. They did not disappoint. In fact, I found myself seeking out more of their tunes after witnessing them rouse a crowd of 1500. There music is in a league of it's own, in my opinion. I met Dicky Moore awhile back on the interwebs. I remember stumbling upon a couple of his tracks. One was The Werewolf and the other The Omega Point, a track which I can't seem to find at the moment. You may notice that I sampled Dicky's voice in a track off of the Ample Mammal record called The Atmosphere. I think that's the only real clearance I've ever actually got to sample anything. Ha! I didn't reach the deadline, but being a longtime fan of Lif and Thievery, I was stoked to work on a remix of the Culture of Fear single they put out. The original old school hip hop flavor is maintained in this remix, but add in an earthy flute, some outerspace stabs, and a tight bassline and this comes out a completely different track. Great mid-tempo dance track for crowds that are a bit more heady. Pop this joint into ipod or your next mixtape. Lif + Thievery + Polish. Doing thangs. [...]

Tour continues. The month of May is a big one. This Wednesday we'll be joining Archnemesis and Bootysweat for a show in Louisville, KY. This show is at Headliner's Hall, and is being put on by Underlying Themes. Should be a big one. It's mine and Liminus's first visit through Kentucky, so we are stoked to come hang with you down south folk. The following night, Thursday, we keep the Kentuckey streak alive, and head over to Lexington to play at Cosmic Charlie's. We're told Lexington is a rowdy crowd. This weekend is a weekend of firsts. For the first time ever, The TPA team will be visiting Florida. First up on Wednesday night we're in Gainsville at The Double Down, Thursday we're in Orlando at the Plaza Theatre, Friday, we roll up to Georgia and hit Statesboro, and last but not least we're playing a secret private party in Athens, Georgia.
