That's Lewisham like ya don't know. I've been totally rinsing Zero and Snipe Keedo on Bossman's show from 3 May today... it's a show that proves south-east London's still standing up tall, in this slightly bereft post-Essentials era. In a scene that's about as vibrant as a stagnant pond right now (I reckon an England World Cup win is more likely than Guns 'n' Roses 2 coming out before September,
Ariel Pink - Are You Gonna Look After My Boys? heavy heavy heavy, seriously go and soulseek all his old albums not just the paw tracks ones that everyone knows about even though they are amazing.

DAT Politics were brilliant last night. I can't really watch bands anymore, but its usually becuase schtick and stage antics belie the sound coming out the speakers. By contrast DAT gave us a whole world of joyous beeps and squelches kept coherent by a mini-gabba framework. Definitely enough to get lost in while looking at three refreshingly ordinary people onstage with their little electronic

Hold tight Tom Unlikely, hold tight Letty Fox, hold tight the whole Clandestine fam, becuase friday's Dubpressure night was one to remember. I'm still recoverting from that profound warmth that you only really get after a night of having your whole body battered by 15k worth of bass. The JuJu guys got things warmed up nicely for Slaughter Mob, the first of the headliners. Slaughter seem to have completely moved away from their breakier stuff, and played a lot of lovely half-time skankers. Their own tunes are going in a similar direction as well - look out [...]

funk carioca comes to bardens tonight. Diplo's new signing Bonde De Role DJ as well as various cool bloggers like our good friends Skull Juice. Should be live-oooo
The first and last post on Dot-Alt about the World Cup, I promise. Sweden, Spain, France and, um, France again repped below: "pulling old birds and Freddie Ljungbergs" - Kano, Boys Love Girls "we attack like Fabregas" - Bear Man, Kick You Out "on the ball like Trezeguet" - Doctor, Good to Go "on the ball like Cisse" - Tinchy Stryder, 96 Bars of Revenge I'm sure there are more [...]
in response to one of alex's earlier posts about flat-lining drums and monotonous half-step, Martin Clark seems to be on the same idea with this article With Burial's long player about to be dropped and listening to Dubstep Allstars vol.3 the other day and hearing tracks like dmz's "heartless ninja" and plasticmans remix of bengas "mammoth" with skittery 2 step drums hopping all over the place, isnt it about time for a revival?
Matt found this nice site, check our what theyre hosting: L. Vis - Ridin Dirty VIP (Baltimore remix) broken to bits and sounds well garagey to my ear!Â
There's an article on Ariel Pink in the new Plan B, with a photo above it. I was finding myself skipping over page after page of their last issue becuase of the constant band photos, all so similar - the stances, the haircuts, the scenarios. And sure enough I very nearly skipped over this feature about one of the only BANDS that i'm listening to at the moment. How can anybody make Ariel Pink look so fucking ordinary ? When clearly they are the epitome of unusual, at least in their music. If they really do look this [...]
