John Williams - The Flying Sequence (Can You Read My Mind - Vocals by Margot Kidder) I've just heard the terribly sad news that Christopher Reeve has died. His tireless campaigning since his accident and his courage and dedication against his adversities was a real inspiration to many. I can still remember how amazed I was when I first saw Superman as a young boy at the cinema and as a small tribute to a very great man i'm posting this song from the original soundtrack. Rest in peace. If you liked [...]
Unbunny - Snow Tires God I love getting stuff sent to me... usually it's not too good though sadly, but please keep sending stuff!!! But this is far from crap!!! Anyway, Marc Robot got the same album last week and posted a couple of tracks from it... but I like it so much I thought I'd throw in my two penn'orth. Apart from the very first time I heard this it completely blew me away, and still does every time. Although this was recorded in 1967 it wasn't released until 1986 on the outakes and alternate versions compilation Another View , some of which turned up on the excellent Peel Slowly and See box set, not [...]
Egill Sæbjörnsson - I Love You So Both these tracks are taken from Iceland's Smekkleysa (Bad Taste Records) 'Egill S - Tonk Of The Lawn' album I bought when I was over there visiting friends a few years ago. Everyone was raving about this record that was being played on the radio all day everyday called 'Tonk Of The Lawn'. Anyway it's an odd record, (kind of like an Icelandic Beck) made by a chap called Egill Sæbjörnsson who is an Icelandic artist/painter/film-maker/sing er-songwriter now based in Berlin. These two cuts are highlights from the [...]
