Former drummer of Montreal indie group Islands, Aaron Harris entered the Brooklyn scene in 2009 when he started Steel Phantoms. Originally formed in 1994 as a Nirvana cover band called Martha Dumptruck, they split in 1999 after recording over 100 tracks, but only one album. Recently they reformed as Mara Donis , a completely made up name with no meaning at all, except keeping the original initials of the band, MD, and recorded their second album Altered Tunings .
