"Tom Slatter is a singer-songwriter from London who writes steampunk and sci-fi inspired prog-rock songs. Described by the Steampunk Chronicle as ‘an experiment too far’, his music lies somewhere between Radiohead, early Genesis and Nick Cave. In March 2013, Tom released his third solo album, Three Rows of Teeth. The new CD contains songs about such clichéd subjects as fake spiritualists, murder, time travel, replacing one’s body parts with mechanical alternatives and flying an airship into a cloud full of birds with too many teeth. There is also mention of ravenous church steeples." [Bio] [...]

On a day of corned beef sandwiches we are shining a spotlight on Liverpool band, Alpha Male Tea Party, whose track will serve as an ode to one of my least favorite meals. They play an aggressive yet melodic breed of guitar driven math-rock which nods to the likes of Brontide , You Slut! and Tera Melos . The three piece have have previously played with some IR favorites such as Adebisi Shank as well as And So I Watch You From Afar . In the last year or [...]

The Racer, an indie rock quintet out of Monroe, NY is influenced by the frequent commutes to NYC, tour van rides and road trips a group of bandmates inevitably experiences. “We usually picture driving to the music we make,” says lead singer Pete Marotta. “Maybe because most people in our area commute over an hour to NYC on a daily basis.” The music this band of friends makes does have a feeling of movement, especially their latest album, Passengers. With this release, out May 14th, The Racer takes the transportation motif to the next level. [...]

Walter Sickert & The ARmy of BRoken TOys are the spinners of a charming, demented fairy tale that gathers new characters all the time. At the heart of the colorful fantasy is Walter Sickert, the writer, ringleader and conjurer. The name of the band came to Walter in a dream. He had been living in a haunted barn in the woods of New Hampshire and would often record very late at night. During one of these sessions on a mid-winter’s eve, he fell asleep curled under a pile of broken porcelain dolls. The dolls kept him warm [...]

This newest love/hate letter from Atlanta's Tiger! Tiger! features 15 new songs that capture the shifting moods of a waterfront tavern with floors of sawdust and broken teeth. "Cut Them Where They Bleed" (March 13th, Chicken Ranch Records) ups the ante of Brecht/Weill's "Threepenny Opera" to five bucks. Once again, Tiger! Tiger! has escaped from its jungle and into your zoo, dissolving the distinction of who is inside or outside of the cage. [via Fanatic] Download Cut Them Where They Bleed [...]
