Sea Legs are an indie rock quartet that came out of Bateau Bay, Australia which we discovered via our friends over at the A&R Dept, purveyors of all good sounds ringing out from across the Pacific. The band apparently came about from of the ashes of the indie rock band, Modern Joy and are now reportedly based in nearby Sydney. Clap for Daylight is a 4-piece indie rock band from the Atlanta area. They have released the follow-up to their debut album Break Even , their Fire Escape EP, and today's Daily Dose is from it. The label lists one influence of the Swedish group as Swervedriver, although likely more prevalent on the 'noisier' first release. "Tom Slatter is a singer-songwriter from London who writes steampunk and sci-fi inspired prog-rock songs. Described by the Steampunk Chronicle as ‘an experiment too far’, his music lies somewhere between Radiohead, early Genesis and Nick Cave. In March 2013, Tom released his third solo album, Three Rows of Teeth. Enerate are a Australian synth-pop group out of Sydney. They aren't signed to a commercial label, and have been releasing material under the independent group "Big Big Records". The group have enjoyed early success, with today's featured single "Unstoppable" getting airplay across Australian digital and standard radio. Bears! intimately chronicle soured relationships, identity crises, and personal inadequacies in 10 gloom-and-doom dance tracks. Phillip Cala (vocals/bass), Ricky Rios (guitar), and Evan Leal (drums) formed Bears! Bears! Bears! in 2008, shortly after the dissolution of Batman Parade, Cala's high school four-piece. The Racer, an indie rock quintet out of Monroe, NY is influenced by the frequent commutes to NYC, tour van rides and road trips a group of bandmates inevitably experiences. “We usually picture driving to the music we make,” says lead singer Pete Marotta. “Maybe because most people in our area commute over an hour to NYC on a daily basis.” The music this band of friends makes does have a feeling of movement, especially their latest album, Passengers.
