I've too recently read Kazuo Ishiguro's Never Let Me Go to be fair to Mark Romanek's film version . During that read I'd often surface and shake my head and wonder how a movie would be able to preserve the way Ishiguro imbued every tiny moment with so much meaning without plainly speaking everything out in voice-over and dialogue or just presenting scenes as if they had some self-evident importance.
