Glimmering electropop trio Caotico have been compared to MGMT and Cut Copy even though they say they're in fact more influenced by Lil Wayne and Madonna. The outfit was probably one of hottest debut acts here in Sweden during 2011 with a range of remixes and festival gigs, with the release of their debut album in 2012 (will be drop February 22nd on Baseline ) they'll most likely be heard everwyhere. Here's a first taste in the form of a Discobelle premier, new single "Into The Beat" that has radio hit written all over it.

"Crew Love" might be the catchphrase from 2011 that'll stick around for the next decade or so, which says just as much about Drake + The Weeknd's ability to craft unforgettable choruses as much as the sociological function of slang in youth culture. Anywayyy, Shlohmo recently premiered this little gem of a cough syrup injected dragged out remix at Los Angeles' WEDIDIT Festival at the end of January. Fingers crossed it gets the Weeknd approved official release ASAP.

It's possible that I might be a Francophile with a bit of a disco obsession, but objectively speaking Yuksek 's remix of The Young Professionals "D.I.S.C.O." is fantastic. Yuksek's take on the electro pop duo from Tel Aviv's track is boogie worthy with its layers of arpeggio synths that create a gradual build up as the song progresses.

French disco house producer Dimitri From Paris has teamed up with DJ Rocca on a remix for his Eurodiscomix series. Their take on Hard Ton's "In This Moment" is groovy and lush with some jazz flavor, especially with the flute sounds at the end. Hard Ton's Not Again EP is out February 13th on Gomma records sister label Toy Tonics .

Here's your weekend soundtrack, slow epic disco burners courtesy of Brooklyn duo Blondes . Their album "Blondes" was just released on RVNG Intl with a couple of extras and an additional disc of remixes.

A little disappointed by Jay-Z and Yeezy's kaleidoscopic mishmash of concert footage? Enjoy some smoother than grocery store wine cooler vibes on the collaboration between Chairlift and Das Racist's Kool A.D instead, which reworks Carter family member Beyonce's material into a dreamy mishmash of wispy exaltation, and a rap where Kool A.D repeats Lenny Kravitz's name like he's trying to raise a demon from the 7th layer of hell. It's mind boggling to think that Abel Tesfaye, better known as The Weeknd , is only 21 years old and has already released three albums in the last ninth months. The Canadian-born songwriter and producer defies pop star expectations, releasing all his music for free, declining interviews and communicating with fans only through social media outlets like Twitter and Tumblr. His music is definitely R&B influenced, but it would be unfair to categorize it as such. It's atmospheric and experimental while still being accessible. Malmö producer Joelito with his song "Sickhead" ( we've posted about the track before here on Discobelle but it's now being released as an EP by Mad Decent sublabel Jeffrees). The tracks sounds like Mexican 3ball but Joelito's use of horns completely flips the track upside down. The remixes from Flore, Boyfriend and Copia Doble Systema continue where he left off by transporting the track to new dimensions. A new tune from mad French hatter Canblaster who together with Nightwave did this for the Red Bull Music Academy Various Assets project where from now until February 24th, every Monday thru Friday, one track recorded at the Red Bull Music Academy 2011 in Madrid will be made available for download. 16 in total. Her debut release "Bonanza" goes in hard with a title track that's a tropical tinged hornbased stomper that gallops into to the sunset.
