Posted by Andrew: I think the only guy who laughs harder than me at Anthony Jeselnik jokes is Anthony Jeselnik. "What I'm doing right now is killing, and as a comedian on TV it's pretty much the best thing you can do."
Posted by Matt: Some songs take a several listens before your subconscious lets their subtle nuances find a home...this couldn't be farther from the truth with Blitzen Trapper's "Wild Mountain Nation." At any given moment in this song there is about six separate hooks lining up to kick you in the teeth. Check out the video below, and forget about having any other song stuck in your head for the next 7 months. [...]

Well the list it up, and it looks pretty damn good to me. Portishead, The Verve, The National, Spiritualized, Sasha and Digweed, Hot Chip. Jack Johnson is obviously a major weak point, and there's no Radiohead or LGC, but this lineup should do me just fine. I'm not exactly like Lindsay Lohan walking into a bachelor party full of coke and strange men, but I'm pretty damn excited. Here is a list of bands that I will be seeing in California at the end of April. You should be jealous [...]
That's Fucking Dynamite fan and Rocky 4 enthusiast Anthony Jeselnik will be on Conan tonight! Make sure to check him out.
Well, they're showing up all over the web, so it seemed about time for TFD to sound off on what really hit home over the last year. Here's my run down of 2007's best efforts... 1- Bill Callahan - Woke on a Whaleheart Myspace 2- Dog Day - Night Group Myspace 3- Kings Of Leon - Because of the Times Myspace 4- Radiohead - In Rainbows [...]
Not a whole bunch of people outside Halifax know this, but before Pop-Up Book made them their millions, The Superfantastics released a son of a bitch of a catchy EP called Like Letters . While most offer up "Oh! How You Used To Know Me Well" as the band's best song, I still stand by "What Will You Do Now." The lead track on the EP, it kicks of six songs of pop genius at its most charming. The album is available on-line for the first time ever now, and you can listen to/purchase it [...]
Posted by Matt: It's really just what the title says folks, ten songs that I like a whole bunch at the moment...as for the picture of Friday The 13th era Jason Vorhees, not even I can really explain that. I'm a man driven by impulse ladies and gentlemen, and today my impulse was to put that picture in this post. It may not make a bunch of sense, but when the muse comes calling... Anyway, year end lists are popping up everywhere, and the pressure is on in the TFD [...]
Posted by Matt: I stumbled on John Maus over at Aquarium Drunkard a few weeks back, and while I wasn't really into the songs of his I heard "Do Your Best" kicked my ass...and maybe I should keep that to myself, because I just read the review section on his myspace...here are a few choice clips that he posted: It took this Ariel Pink cohort five years to write and record his debut album, and only five minutes to become more annoying than Ariel Pink. - CMJ For me, this [...]

American Idol really does produce some talented people...
Wanna see someone break their femur... And a ref make a funny...

Posted by Andrew: NYC's Asobi Seksu is one of my favorite bands. It's as simple as that. When I first got my hands on their most recent record Citrus , I went on a week long AS binge that would even make Lindsay Lohan proud. Then when I found out what the band names means in Japanese ("playful sex") and dug into their fabulous back catalogue and realized how they truly were the dominant shoegazery-noise-dream-poppers of the moment, my love for the band was solidified. My relationship [...]
