DIVE has released a couple of brilliant singles on Captured Track s , and they have now announced that their debut album "Oshin" will be out on the same label on June 26. Can't wait! Here's the first single from the new album, a lovely track called "How long have you known".

photo by drunkenass Because the site has been down for a couple of weeks, you might have missed last week's playlist , but you won't miss the 32nd playlist in this series. If you want an email from us every time a new playlist is posted, you can subscribe to our label's newsletter, and just check the "Loved Songs" box (if you only check this box, you will not get the regular newsletter, only the Loved Songs-lists). You can subscribe from here. [...]
Do you remember the Swedish band JJ? They've been gone for a long time, - at least it seems that way. In may, they will be back with a new album, and of course it will be called jj nº4. It will be out May 8th on Secretly Canadian & Sincerely Yours. Here's a preview, "Beautiful life", and you can download it via Soundcloud.

Photo by Thristian Friday = Loved Songs. Here is this week's LOVED SONGS-playlist on Spotify, with new songs from this week. There are also a couple of oldies in there, from re-released records or from compilations. You will find a text-version of the list below. Here is this week's "Loved Songs"-Spotify-list: Loved Songs #29 As usual, all the "loved songs"-playlists are added to the evergrowing "All loved songs"-playlist, [...]
The wonderful FERNS are finally back, and the new album "Fairweather Friends" is close to perfect, - and so was their debut as well. I'm a fan. This is their new video, "Hey OK". Lovely?

First we knew them as My Little Pony . Then they had to change their name to mylittlepony , because...you know why. Now they have changed their name once again, and named the band after their previous album: Making Marks . The band will continue playing the songs from their first two albums, "Think too much" and "Making marks" on their concerts, as well as new material. Everything will be slightly different, though. mylittlepony had 5 members, and Making Marks has 4, so according to themselves the sound will have room for "more vocal harmonies [...]

Paperfangs , who released a free digital single on our netlabel EardrumsPop in October 2010, have signed a record deal with one of our favourite labels, the wonderful Soliti . The label hosts bands like Big Wave Riders, Black Twig, Cats On Fire, Astrid Swan and The New Tigers , all bands we LOVE, and now they are the home of another band we love... Paperfangs will self-release a cassette-tape with new songs, before they start recording for Soliti, and both the digital- and the physical version [...]

photo by Dead Air This week all my usual Friday-stuff have been done too late, so the "Loved Songs"-playlist is posted today instead. This time, it's huge, and I have tried to cut it down, but I just couldn't leave any of the songs out of it. So many good songs... Here is the list: Loved Songs #28 And as usual, you can also subscribe to the evergrowing [...]
This is probably my favourite band at the moment, - at least one of them -, Young Hunting . I was in love from the first moment I heard their amazing single "Into yr mind"/"sonata" on Bandcamp in September 2010, - two supergorgeous songs that I never get tired of listening to. Now they finally have a website , a twitter and a facebook-page , a new single ("Rust") and video! I am a very happy man now, and I am so looking forward to new [...]

photo by Allyeska It's another Friday, and here's another "Loved Songs"-playlist, with new songs I have loved from this week. As usual, I have put an old favourite in there as well, The Glove - "Perfect Murder". This is a side-project Robert Smith (The Cure) and Steve Severin (Siouxsie and The Banshees) had some time in the 80s. Great song, and weird, but good album. There is another oldie in here as well, but it's from a new compilation from Simple Minds. [...]
The Norwegian artist Like Spinning was a part of our netlabel's compilation "Between Two Waves", as the collaboration-project "Suspicious for the winter". Now she has a beautiful, new double-A single ready, "Forces / My window", available through her Bandcamp-page. Watch the video above, and buy the single from http://likespinning.bandcamp.c om/

Photo by Rock Portrait Photography As usual on Fridays, I make a special Spotify-playlist of songs I loved from this week. This week, the list is huge, 40 songs, but I just couldn't cut it more down than I already have. The playlist includes great new songs from bands like Tennis, St Etienne, Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils, Maribel, Sea Lions, Islands and lots more. The full tracklist can be found below. If you like this playlist, please subscribe to it, share it on social media or just [...]

Our ukulele-playing, cartoon-making, Batmobile-creating and incredibly creative hero Jacob Borshard has, as the pressrelease say, "just won the distinction of being the first person on earth to fully complete the Beach Boys' 1967 Smile recordings". Jacob has shown his love for Beach Boys in his earlier works as well, like his WeePop!-release "Coctail", where he covered "Kokomo". This time, he has (based on Brian Wilson's solo version of the album, put together a stereo-version of the original Smile-recoirdings. He has recorded the missing vocals himself, added ukulele, compiled and edited a full stereo-version of the legendary [...]
Lightships is the new musical project from Gerard Love of Teenage Fanclub . Their debut single, the beautiful "Sweetness In Her Spark", will be released on Tuesday the 27th of March, and the album "Electric Cables" will be out on Tuesday the 3rd of April, both on Domino Records. In addition to Gerard Love, a cast of his Glasgow-based friends play on the record: Dave McGowan (guitar, Teenage Fanclub), Brendan O'Hare (drums, from the first incarnation of Teenage Fanclub), Tom Crossley (flute, International Airport and The Pastels) and Bob Kildea (bass, Belle & [...]

Photo by Morgana We're back on Fridays again, after a delayed "Loved Songs #243. Since we used lots of goodies from this week on that one, the 25th edition will be a bit shorter than usual. Several really good ones in here too. I'm especially happy with the new album from Liechtenstein, the single from SoKo and the debut-album from Beth Jeans Houghton. Here it is, and please subscribe or share it around if you like it. It makes it worth [...]

Nottingham's Red Shoe Diaries is one of the bands that make me really excited these days. It's definitely indiepop, but I think this band takes the genre a bit further. I can't exactly put my finger on what it is, but their music sounds "new" in some way. It's sophisticated, with lovely, almost clean vocals, and great melodies. The band has two brilliant vocalists, and their twangy guitar reminds me of old Italian western-films. Don't worry, this is not anything like the western soundtracks... This is POP, Pure POP! The [...]

As some of you may know, I am a huge fan of the German label Morr Music . I trust them so much that I KNOW that I will love their upcoming releases. I knew, just by reading Morr's description of their new signing FENSTER , that this was something I should look forward to. Quote: "FENSTER makes de-constructed pop music. Their lyrics are often carefully constructed dream narratives, finding inspiration in the world of ghosts, graveyards. trains, religious imagery, and broken machinery. In [...]
