After a battle with lung cancer, TV On The Radio bassist Gerard Smith has passed away. This is a terrible loss for both the band and the Brooklyn music scene. The band has posted the following statement on their website : "We are very sad to announce the death of our beloved friend and bandmate, Gerard Smith, following a courageous fight against lung cancer. Brooklyn electronic duo CREEP have taken Planningtorock 's chilling new single "Doorway" and stripped it of its intensity, resulting in a more airy, ethereal dream track. Brooklyn synth duo Light Asylum blew my mind when I caught their live set back in the spring of 2010. Singer Shannon Funchess, who has also worked with !!! and Teengirl Fantasy, has an incredible presence that is both terrifying and utterly captivating.
