
The above image is Felt 's debut single, "Index," from 1979 and is EXTREMELY rare. I've never even seen a picture of it before. Fantastic...The staples make it even better! And the lettering looks like its been done by hand which I'm sure it was. This surely was the golden age of DIY indie pop. Hailing from Cleveland, OH, The Valentinos were made up of the Womack brothers (Bobby, Curtis, Harry, Friendly Jr, and Cecil). Curtis and Bobby were discovered as young teenagers in 1956 by Sam Cooke while the brothers were singing gospel music. Four years later, Cooke had the group travel to California where he signed them to his SAR record label. The group initially wanted to record only gospel material, but their gospel debut flopped. Seems like there is just an unending stream of great 60's clips from French TV surfacing lately. Here's another one I was unaware of till a few minutes ago.
This is very cool but kind of odd. I've never heard the Clash sound like this, it's like all of their stomp boxes and effects pedals got lost in transit. They're plugged directly into the amps. I'm guessing French TV again. No info from the uploader. (via Ted Barron )
