Warsaw Village Band ( Polish : Kapela ze wsi Warszawa ) is a band from Warsaw, Poland, that plays traditional Polish folk music tunes combined with modern elements. According to the band's creative manifesto, it was formed as a response to mass culture and narrow-mindedness, "which in fact leads to [the] destruction of human dignity." Indeed, after the fall of the Berlin Wall and the expansion of the European Union to most of the former Warsaw Pact countries, Poland's economy has grown dramatically, while [...]
I'm kind of obsessed with this band. I could do without the toy horses... I'll find one more really good one and then move on to the next obsession. A.
It's been a long time since I found an instant favorite like "The Kills" She was in a band in the south and he was in a band in the UK and they were sending tapes to each other.. here's a quote from eMusic.."The bluesy punk duo the Kills consists of vocalist/guitarist VV, aka Alison Mosshart, formerly of the Florida punk band Discount, and drummer/guitarist/vocalist Hotel, aka Jamie Hince. After Discount ended in 2000, VV began exchanging tapes with the London-based Hotel through the mail, but both of them felt hindered by this method, so VV crossed the [...]

you know mr. coffee don't you? I used to think joe dimaggio was mr. coffee when I was a kid. mr. coffee makes coffee makers. It's been making coffee makers since 1972. It was the first drip coffee maker made available for home use. Prior to the introduction of Mr. Coffee, most coffee prepared at home was made by a percolator, either on a stovetop or plugged directly into a wall socket. if mr. coffee has been making coffee makers for 36 years, why have they not been able to make a carafe that doesn't drip down the [...]
Isn't this everyone's favorite from the '70s? Golden Earring was from Holland. I had no idea. Here's the the Sponge Bob version... Alvin
I never thought I would see this outside the movie "Ghost World" and then it shows up on my friend Tina's blog toady. Alvin
I don't know why I posted that terrible mix before. Here's video of the original. So much better. The previous mix is totally pointless. I don't think I've ever published something here that I hate. I'll leave it up anyway. Maybe someone will like it. I suppose if you really like the original then that mix might give you something different. Totally different. Alvin
"Gabriel" was originally released in 2002 on Mercury. I read that there was a reissue the beginning of 2003. I guess they hoped it would do better the second time. This was the Hooper mix, although I don't think the MJ Cole mix has been mentioned. Here's the Cole Mix Alvin.

When I was 12, many, many years ago, I started listening to Alice Cooper. The only media we had was TV and magazines, so you were lucky if you were able to catch a glimpse of the A.C. Band on the tube you were lucky. Now it's all available 36 years later. I started out tame with Billion Dollar Babies and then went backwards to Love It To Death. That and Killer are probably my favorite Alice Cooper Band albums. I sold BDB yesterday for a dollar at a rummage sale... Also, last week my wife was going through our [...]
Have you noticed this lately? It's like music blogging but probably a little safer and a little cheaper. People are putting up full fidelity music behind a cool piece of artwork and passing it off as a video on YouTube. This one is from "blamekojo" I sent blamekojo a note and asked hi to chat with me about what I've been noticing lately. If anyone else has some insight into this please contact me. Gregg

I've heard some new "pre-releases" of the new upcoming Metallica album and they sound great! The awful and annoying tin can has been replace by a tight, crisp and full snare drum on Lars' set. What a relief. Plus the music is excellent. I can't wait for the release in September. (22nd?) Of course, I won't share it with you here for obvious reasons but I will report more. New producer (for Metallica) Rick Rubin has whipped them back into shape. Who was that last guy? He was on some kind of second childhood kick where he butted in an [...]
One different direction... Do you like it? Alvin
Here's some more Florence and the Machine just to keep the appearance of progress. Alvin is Gregg by the way. Gregg
This is so funny. I really like old Metallica. Not too old, maybe from "With Liberty..." through S&M Live. When they came out with the St. Anger album I was beside myself with Alvin Anger! Plus, you see, I'm old and I have no friends who share my love of Metallica so I had no one to share my outrage with. But that was a few years ago. I've zipped my St. Anger files and have just put them away. When I ran into this video this morning, I knew I had to post it. [...]
Who is Alvin really? Why is he so lazy when it comes to posting? Maybe sometimes he doesn't want to post about music only. Maybe sometimes he would rather just post about Dr. Drew and Ass-holics Anonymous. Or maybe he wants to share some serious news, like the black guy going around the country asking for change . Maybe his name isn't really even Alvin. Maybe it's a more common name like Bob or Jeff. [...]

Zenzile, once known as the "Kings of French Dub" have obviously taken a different direction on their newest release. I found them through a reference to "Tricky" and decided to sample their latest project because he appears as a guest vocalist on one of their tunes. If you're really searching for Dub, you will find some here but if you're searching for something different and catchy you'll be in the right place. Hard to describe but dark, deep, driving, downtempo comes to mind. I read 2 reviews that mention talking heads in comparison but I don't see it. [...]
