We're gonna close out the week with a little bit of local awesomeness from Pree. The Kora Records are quickly proving to be the finest purveyors of great rock here in the DC area. Pree's debut EP will be out in a few weeks on March 24th, entitled A Chopping Block. We'll be sure to give you a reminder in our weekly New Music Tuesday column when the time comes. Enjoy "In The Parlor".

Maybe I'll stick with Throwback Thursday. Today, KRS-One's "Criminal Minded." The "Hey Jude" reference makes me laugh. Also, read Confection Corner .

Our friends over at Vanguard Records clued us into a new release that we missed on Tuesday and have given us the opportunity to share a bit of it with you. The Alternate Routes released A Sucker's Dream this week and I have a feeling that it's right up the alley of most of our readership here. Below is the video for "The Future's Nothing New" and below that is a link to download an mp3 of "All That I See" You can catch The Alternate Routes on tour with Matt Wertz through mid-March. Wertz is usually a [...]

I'm reviving this and running it every Wednesday, in Sedgwick's stead. I start today with Kelly Clarkson. "My Life Would Suck Without You" is an excellent song with an abysmal title. (Seriously, shouldn't it at least be "My Life (Would Suck Without You)" so it wouldn't look like a Fall Out Boy work?) Think of it as Kelly's bizarro "Since U Been Gone." There, she was playfully vengeful and breathlessly independent; here she is encumbered with a [...]

Its a good day, the first spring training games are today. How about some No Age? Enjoy!
The Following Takes Place Between 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 P.M. Looks like Sean isn't the only one who's working for Dubaku (or Burnett); Erika's in on it too and freaking out. Renee is getting emotional about Marika's impending fate. But! It looks like Dubaku actually was in love with Marika and he still wants her [...]

With Cam'Ron ramping up his promotion for his latest album , I figured it was a good time to dredge up my favorite single song from the entire Diplomat crew. That beat, especially as the synths stab in, is malicious. And the "The Warriors" theme to the video is a nice touch, too, considering the Dips' own cult status.

There's always a calm before the storm, so it looks like we've got the eye passing over us right now. The next few weeks have some big releases, but this week takes it slow. New Black Lips. But not much else. A quick run-down awaits after the jump. Black Lips - 200 Million Thousand Straight up garage rock. Comes right at ya. You know the drill. Chris Isaak - Mr. Lucky [...]
We start out this week with Erin and Allie chatting. Erin is so excited about the trip to Miami. Allie can't go because she has a photo shoot with Nylon, and she's so excited, she's shooting with a guy. Erin wants to know if Adam gets jealous on the shoots. Allie says that he does, he always asks what she was wearing and how much the guy touched her. Allie says a little flirting isn't a bad thing. Erin points out that he probably deserves it. Allie says they'll have a blast since Adam knows people in Miami. [...]
It's Monday, which means The Real have a video for us. (NSFW.) And this one's fantastic. (That's Cam'ron, for the uninitiated.)

Let's get the week started with a little kick...
This episode opens at night with everyone just chilling around the house when we see some uninvited guests - there are several mice running around on the floor, and the furry critters make their presence known. When JD spots them he jumps up on a bar stool, screaming like a woman. Apparently the mice have been a persistent problem, because there are traps laid out. When one of the mice falls victim, Scott takes it out of the trap and brings it into the kitchen to scare the girls ( c'mon, man! that's unsanitary! haven't you heard of the hantavirus [...]

It's Oscar weekend. First hip-hop connection is this: "Shoot at you actors like movie directors." Best live song in hip-hop? Hit the jump for more fun stuff and announcements. First, the boys from The Real with Cameron Giles: more about " Hey Ma, Look What We Found! on Vimeo ", posted with vodpod [...]

Why this version wasn't included on the first release is beyond me.
Against all odds, Drew asks Liz out, but since she has the show on Friday, they have to make it a Saturday date. On Valentine's Day. She opts to make him cheese stew in her apartment. The date goes steadily downhill. First, her boob falls out of her blouse. Then the smoke alarm goes off while she's on the toilet. The powerful draft when Dr. Baird opens her kitchen window yanks the bathroom door open. His ex-wife unceremoniously dumps his teenage daughter Bethany on them. At this point, Drew decides to embrace [...]

It's Dr. Dre's 44th birthday. This won him a Grammy in 1994. Also, Detox is never coming out. Ever.

Jenny, Zooey and Elvis. Need I say more? Enjoy!

The time of death on Rick Ross in his beef with 50 Cent was called last week. It coincides to the second with this song's debut. (NSFW). A special message to DeadOn after the jump.
