Over the weekend, DeadOn turned two. That's like fifty-seven in blog years. Thanks to all of you who have checked us out over the past 24 months, and there's been nearly 1,000,000 of you. Not shabby for a shitty little blog that doesn't do much in the way of promotion. It's ok if you're afraid to sing to us.

I hope you all had a nice long weekend (that is, of course, assuming your employer/school considered yesterday a holiday) and that you're all ready to get back to business today. We've got a relatively slow week staring us down on the release front, highlighted by Him (of She and Him). M.Ward hits lead-off for us this week, and the rest of the gang awaits you after the jump. M.Ward - Hold Time Ward [...]
Its Christmas time for the City. Whitney, Olivia and some other DVF workers are at a table for the Christmas party. Olivia brags about knowing all of the editors. Whitney starts to tell a story and Olivia talks over her. DVF wishes them a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Olivia asks what Whitney is doing that night and Whitney is going to some party with Jay and Sammy and Erin. Olivia points out its all of her friends. And Whitney says yes, except for her. Olivia tells Whitney not to get too drunk and fall down. Whitney laugh and [...]

I conveniently forgot to post on Valentine's Eve. Which means I don't need to burn "I Need Love" this year! Instead, some fighting-trim Cool James. Hit the jump for the latest from ItsTheReal. [ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v =9j3unSMjDuM] The title's "The Food Fighters."
This episode opens in the morning with Katelynn dancing around the house in a pair of short-shorts. Scott and Devyn discuss the fact that they had specifically asked her not to do that, because it's not appopriate to prance around in underwear (or is it because she used to be a dude? you closed-minded bastards!). When Sarah makes a similar comment to Katelynn, she responds that "I want it to feel as close to home as possible here." Join me after the jump for the fallout (no it doesn't fall out - there's nothing there to fall out anymore). [...]

Have a good weekend, kids. Have a nice little Valentine's Day and whatnot. See you on Monday.

It occurs to me that I haven't properly celebrated Lil Wayne's Grammy haul. So, here, "Dr. Carter," the best song from Tha Carter 3. Enjoy.
We're going to make an attempt at a new format this week. It normally takes me an hour and a half to get one of these recaps done, and (as my posting schedule indicates), I don't have that kind of time anymore. I'm hoping to cut that in half by making the simple assumption that you've probably seen the episode already and are coming here for the funny quotes, so I can get away with posting only a brief recap for context purposes. Here we go. Jack's having trouble making inroads [...]

I feel like taking it back a decade or so today.
The Following Takes Place Between 3:00 P.M. And 4:00 P.M. I'm not sure the previous format was working too well and I doubt anyone was actually reading it, so I present to you: 24 Things We Learned About 24 This Week: No one in the general public of Washington D.C. recognizes Dubaku. You'd think his picture might have come up at least once on the news. [...]

Lonely Island featuring Julian Casablancas. Enjoy!

Well kids, we've got a nice slate of releases awaiting us today... Oh Lily. We all want fuckloads of diamonds. Especially the rest of today's artists with new releases, which are awaiting you behind curtain number one Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You I'm pretty excited about this one. I mean it. My love for Ms. Allen is well established in these parts. I've had a chance to listen to about half of [...]
Whitney and Jay are out together, and Jay is nervous about a gig that he has. Whitney says that she thinks she'll bring Erin and her friend JR. Jay snarks about her true love with Duncan, but Whitney says that JR was her first love. Whitney invited Olivia, and Jay doesn't seem pleased. He's not sure if she'll come because his scene is 'not her people' Olivia heads to some fancy restaurant on the upper east side, where's Blair and Serena? Olivia points out that Nevan always gets dressed up, he's wearing a tee [...]
Hey, it's Monday again. Whaddyaknow. Is it cool if we start this week off on the mellow tip? Great. That's what we'll do.

I didn't get the list I wanted to run today done in time. I blame this song entirely. Keri Hilson's long been one of my favorite female artists out there, mostly because I almost automatically esteem the songwriters who give other people their words before they hit as solo acts. In Hilson's case, those words became "Gimme More" and "Break the Ice" for Britney, the great "Ice Box" for Omarion, and part of Ludacris' "Runaway Love." [...]
So...in last week's episode ("Jughead") we found out that Faraday has been on the island in the past, Charles Widmore was a former resident on the island and there's a giant nuke buried on the island. We also learned that Desmond has the balls to stand up to Penny's father and is on the hunt for Faraday's mother ( who, I'm assuming is Mrs. Hawking-PQ ). Finally, we learned that Richard Alpert is old. So, place your cold-compress on the back of your neck, put a tissue under your nose, tilt your head back and [...]
The episode opens in the morning with Scott at a modelling agency for a photo test, where he is taking some pictures in his underwear. Later we see Scott and JD in the car talking about Scott's ex-girlfriend Marissa, and Scott says that he is not interested in "just hooking up" even though he is single. Join me after the jump for the rest of the serious business. That night everyone is getting ready for a Fashion Week show, and once at the show Scott proceeds to chat up numerous [...]

Congrats to Jerkwheat. Here are four guys who should never be out of work in hip-hop. The creation myths of Slaughterhouse are conflicting, so I'm not going to get into them. But it should mean something that this supergroup has been compared to the legendary Traveling Wilburys, with no sarcasm or snark intended. Slaughterhouse is Joe Budden, Royce Da 5293, Joell Ortiz, and Crooked I, all respected MCs with serious Internet hype; their results, in [...]

Here's a little something from The Steps, out of Austin...
The Following Takes Place Between 2:00 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. Sean is working on tracking the big yellow van that transported the Matobos to the exchange spot in the hangar. One step and about an hour behind there; not gonna cut it FBI. Janeane Garofolo meanwhile is a bit more on top of it and actually has a lead on Dubaku's plans to attack the Kidron, Ohio chemical plant. Sean looks on suspiciously but she enlists his help and asks him to "open up a socket," whatever that means. [...]
