I love Wilco. Maybe it has something to with my affection for manly country acts acting sensitive; ala Gram Parsons, but I love Wilco. So I guess it was really no surprise when I fell in love with Sky Blue Sky. It's fantastic; the dynamics hit me in all the right places. The songs hit all the same details. Love, loss, hiding from the people you love, and "why the hell is touring such a chore." I'll give you a hint: it's the fans, Jeff. Jeff Tweedy's voice is spot on and it seems he's recovered fully since his last [...]

It was a bitch attempting to buy tickets to the Judson Memorial Church shows in February to no avail, but this time around, I managed to get my hands on a ticket for the Arcade Fire 's show at Radio City. Despite feeling intimidated by the woman standing beside me whose shoulder must have been at least five inches above my head (as I stand at a measly five-foot-two) and having a man two rows ahead of me obstruct my view, they put on a spectacle of epic proportions. The band performed cohesively, and Win Butler sounded close to [...]

More than two years after their well-renowned release In Case We Die , Architecture in Helsinki is preparing for their third full-length, Places Like This, dropping in early August, under Polyvinyl Records. While doing so, they made a little music video, promoting its first single, "Heart it Races." Right off the bat, one can agree that the band has veered a tad off-course compared to their earlier work; instead of creating texture with bells and other cutesy, jangly, "twee-pop" instrumentation, there seems to be more of a focus on the beat, with the help of [...]

We got home from BAM 07 (St B onaventure's A rts & M edia Festival). It was a great festival, and twice as large as last years. It featured 2 venues, and more than twice as many bands. Despite the number of acts and distance between the two venues, we were able to catch most of bands on the festival. The Allupons got the festival rolling off in the right direction with an awesome indie-rock sound that [...]

It's nice to know that there are artists out there who don't take themselves too seriously, and Feist is certainly no exception. Her music video for "1 2 3 43 recently popped up online, and fans far and wide are marveling over the feel-good choreography of Bitch Lap Lap herself and her dancing friends. Aside [...]
