Absolutely can not listen to the Once soundtrack enough. This song is one of my favorites. It's titled "The Hill" by Marketa Irglova . If you haven't seen this movie yet, do yourself a favor and go rent it now. It's the best musical movie I may have ever seen.

January always makes feel as though my life is in slow motion. The first track of the year, Great Northern's "Low is a Height" , could be the soundtrack for a guy having an emotional breakdown...which you know, it's that time of year.

I'm going to change the focus of MMB just a bit for 2008. Instead of focusing only on new, unheard of artists, I'm also going to feature new works from established musicians that readers may or may not already know. The reason being, in 2007, I found myself not listening to talented artists I love in lieu of trying to find and break the next great new artist. While MMB will still be dedicated to finding the next great unknown, I just can't not listen to artists I love just because they've actually already had some publicity in the past. [...]

This is the third time MMB has featured a tune by A Fine Frenzy this year. Her One Cell in the Sea disc is one of the best of year. Enjoy "Almost Lover" by this immensely talented young artist.
