Animal Collective may be described as freak folk or experimental. They may not be for you. Watch and see here or go to the show on Friday. Free. Monday is a great time to plan for Friday. NYC will have free concerts here and there all summer. Start off early with a free concert. 'River to River Festival': Animal Collective & [...]
Bright Eyes Opening night Pic
As posted on Loose Record (GREAT SITE!!!!!!), here is an excellent shot! LR also says "every night will be a different special guest". If you missed Lou Reed, wonders await for the rest of the gig if you are going more than once.....what a coup that would be! http://www.looserecord.com/Goo dTimes/2007/05/lou-reed-makes- conor-oberst-pee-his.php
Bright Eyes Town Hall Opening Night NYC
Again with the 7s....7 nights of Bright Eyes started tonight. Special Guest....LOU REED. Whether that was just to get press for opening night, I do not know. Either way, it will work. Not that Bright Eyes needs to cajole the media the write the show up, but having Lou Reed is a sure fire way to get some more attention. Town Hall continues to be a wonderful venue for artists and fans. It is a theatre and they do make you sit on down for the most part but it's all good...it always is. [...]

Morrisey Belated Birthday Wishes
Happy belated birthday to Morrissey. May 22 at 11:45 UK time is the exact time the man turned 48. I can't decide if I think he celebrates or curses the day. Happy or Unhappy Birthday? Self absorbed of self deprecating? Isn't that always the way, think of Morrissey and think of conundrum. There is still time to celebrate and I am sure there are theme nights everywhere. Here is a NY party...21 and over btw! Trash @ RiFiFi332 E 11th St btw 1/2Ave 21+ with IDDoors at [...]

The Ark
I love this band! They remind me of the NY Dolls a little. This paticular song is a great place to start listening if you do not know them. See my Fearless Music sidebar for the song "This poetry is meant to do harm". Fearless music aired this in 2006, I hope they get a chance to continue being seen and heard!
New Release Erasure
Tell anyone you think cares (I do) that Erasure has a new release this week. Better yet, tell someone who may not care via the ecard with audio clip. A "Light At The End Of The World" e-card is available for you to send to friends etc, and it includes audio clips from the album:e-card: www.erasureinfo.com/ecard/
Gramecy Theatre Pretty Girls Make Graves
Since this was The Farewell Tour, this was my last change to see PGMG. I've seen them a number of times before and they are always unbelievable in a good way but the crowd is unbelievable in a different way. If people want to form a mosh pit....cool. If you don't want to be involved, stay away. That is your responsibility. If people want to dance, also cool but have some clue about personal space. That is the dancer's responsibility. It is not cool to whip [...]
Tares and Tapes Irving Plaza
I do not care that my pass and ticket says Filmore...Irving Plaza to me! I love when a band looks like they love nothing other than to be on that stage for no other reason than to rock. This is Tapes and Tapes. Yes there was a little "get down on the knees, arch back, and play guitar in the air pointing up to heaven" action.....but it worked/looked and felt real and raw. Glad I went. Set list to follow....gotta run, literally.
