The Black Eyed Peas got the party started at the 2011 Walmart Shareholders Meeting that was held at the Bud Walton Arena at the University of Arkansas last Friday night. The hip hop group entertained the crowd full of Walmart execs with performances of their latest hits "The Time (Dirty Bit)", "Just Can't Get Enough" and "I Gotta Feeling". When they started performing, I originally thought that they were just lip synching because of the auto tune but then Fergie's booming voice came on and I knew it was live. It seems that after a little bashing from a famous PETA activist, Selena Gomez was willing to make a few changes to her upcoming music video. The video in question was to feature pink-painted horses and that of course isn't too friendly to the poor animals so Pink decided to rip on Selena Gomez via twitter a bit and sure enough, that led to the horses not being featured in the final cut of the video… or so the rumor goes. The singer has released a new music video for her song "Call Your Girlfriend". This new song of hers is basically a combination of electropop and R&B, the latest rage it seems but Robyn isn't half-bad at it. Also the music video is a pretty simple thing, basically just a performance video of Robyn dancing in a large hall that has an increasingly complex lighting as the video progresses. Although Jennifer Lopez's ex-husband Ojani Noa has been given permission by the Los Angeles Superior Court to release an intimate home video, the singer/actress' lawyer Jay Lavely has filed an appeal to prevent the video release from happening, as well as a notice of stay in the proceedings so it cannot be distributed until the final decision has been made. Ojani found a loophole in the confidentiality agreement that he signed and now has his current girlfriend Claudia Vasquez shopping it around. New X Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has thanked fans for their support after the first day of auditions. The 22-year-old N-Dubz star is one of the new judges on the talent show along with Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow who are joining the only original judge Louis Walsh. The star was all smiles as she made her way into the NEC in Birmingham for the auditions and hours after she finished her first day she thanked her fans on her Twitter page. The singer has recently released a new music video for her single "Touch". This song of Natasha Bedingfield's is a pretty standard British pop/dance piece… with a bit of electropop thrown in there since that seems to be the latest thing these days. The music video is basically a performance video that features Natasha Bedingfield showing off her vocal skills and stage theatrics. There's also a bit of storyline to it just to add a little spice to the whole thing. All in all, it will most likely prove a fun view for any and all of the singer's fans… [...]

The preliminary numbers are in for the sales of Lady Gaga's new album "Born This Way" and according to Hits Daily Double, the princess of pop's latest album sold 1,110,420 copies in its first week of release. That's definitely the biggest album debut in quite a while. The last album I can think of in recent memory to even come close to that was Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" which sold 1,047,000 copies. And I'd venture to say that it's the biggest release from an artist since NSYNC put out "No Strings Attached" which sold 2.42 million in its first week. [...]

Nicki Minaj has recently released a special music video dedicated to her fans. The clip is for her song, the hood-anthem "Did It on Em". The Bangladesh produced track is included on the rapper's platinum-certified debut disc "Pink Friday". The 4-minute video was directed by DJ Scoob Doo and it features footage from the "I Am Still Music" tour as well as backstage moments with Nicki, Lil Wayne and Drake. How cute is this? The singer has apparently lost a recent trial by which she will be ordered to pay $35, 000 in previously unpaid wages to her maids. And if that wasn't enough to brighten Courtney Love's day, it seems that even her former attorney is suing her over some things she might have said on twitter. Singer Elton John and partner David Furnish are the first gay parents to be nominated for the Celebrity Dad of the Year title. The couple became parents for the first time when their son Zachary was born via a surrogate on Christmas Day last year. American Idol may have seen an increase in the ratings as compared to last season's finale but the Dancing with the Stars finale beat them by getting 21 million viewers, marking the first time any show has ever beaten AI on a performance night. The American Idol finale wasn't just all about performances last night. There were a few segments thrown in there two. They did a sort of roast video for the judges with Randy Jackson's showing how many times he said people are "in it to win it"; Steven Tyler's showing lots of clips of him saying crazy things, inappropriate things and curse words; and Jennifer Lopez's just showing how much everyone loves her. Black Eyed Peas star Fergie was left in shock after her husband Josh Duhamel surprised her with a tribute at the FiFi Awards. Round two of American Idol performance night saw the top 2 singers take on songs that were chosen for them by their idols. Scotty McCreery had George Strait pick "Check Yes or No". I thought it was kind of arrogant for the country singer to give Scotty his own song but Scotty did a good job on it. I found it a bit boring though. The troubled singer is apparently going to take part in a pretty massive charitable effort initiated by JetBlue Airways. Lindsay Lohan and 50 other artists will be donating their various baggage items such as briefcases, guitar cases, purses and so forth to be sold on auction and the proceeds donated to DoSomething.org. American Idol season 7 champion David Cook will be releasing his second major label album "This Loud Morning" on June 28th. The record is preceded by the lead single "The Last Goodbye", co-written by Ryan Tedder. The song has failed to impress on the US charts thus far, despite an expensive AI performance last month. It seems that the singer and his label will keep trying with the song though as the official music video premiered yesterday. Rihanna was on hand to perform at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards which was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas this past Sunday.
