Boys and girls, you may or may not remember me posting about Daniela Hantuchova during her glorious run to the semifinals of the 2008 Australian Open. Unfortunately, some hack by the name of Alize Cornet eliminated her in the third round this year. Yet until yesterday she was still in the running for the doubles title. That's when Ai Sugiyama decided to single-handedly lose the match (the finals, no less). Granted I didn't actually see the loss, but I can assume that's what went down after her abysmal performance in the quarterfinals against top-seeded Black and Huber. Sucks. Seriously. [...]

I've been a fan of StereoHeroes for quite some time now. In fact, I still drop "Boom Slang" with alarming frequency when playing for blog lovers, frat boys, and sorority girls. And the dudes just did a remix for Djedjotronic that's sure to kill it in a big way for that same kind of crowd. Not only is the instrumental huge, but repeated phrases like "big butt girl" and "thin white girl" have been scientifically to get crowds moving in no time. Djedjotronic - "Dirty and Hard (Feat. Spoek) (Stereoheroes Remix)" (Y.S.I.) [...]

I've supported Mansion for a hot minute now and they continue to impress me every time they put out a track. The dudes shot us a remix they did for fellow Canadians Lioness and, as you might expect from both the preceding sentence and the simple fact that I'm posting it at all, I quite enjoy it. In fact, this song's so good that HBBS himself darn near came out of kinda-sorta-maybe Panda Toes retirement to write it up. Check it out: Lioness - "My Heart (Mansion Remix)" (Y.S.I.) [...]

I've never tried to hide my love for Lily Allen . In fact, I won't even try to conceal the fact that I own three copies of her Alright, Still , no joke - one was a gift, one was a promotional disc for review, and I purchased the last. Needless to say, I was quite excited to hear that a mini mix of Ms. Allen's new Album was available for download at her website. Granted either Lily or her label probably could've gotten a DJ to mix up her tracks better so as to make [...]

Derek at Neon Gold has been pushing Theophilus London on Grindin for a minute now. However, I never really gave the dude too many listens until he made his new This Charming Mixtape available for free download. My loss. "Your the One" is smooth and subtle at the outset but fiery during the chorus. "Crazy Cousins," on the other hand, is a lovely track that'd work great as a set builder. Peep those two cuts below and download the mix tape here . [...]

Boys and girls, I've fended off many an illness in the past two weeks or so, and tonight I make my triumphant return to DJing (please try to contain your excitement). I'll be playing at the Cavern alongside my friend Genova and a lad who goes by the name of Van Damme (Disco) . We'll be playing from ten till two at 1914 Greenville (in lovely Dallas, Texas), so stop by and do a bit of drinkin' and dancin'. And while I'm talking about Dallas, be sure to check out Sydney Confirm's [...]

Dance Area have been wowing bloggers and their loyal throngs of music dorks with their new single "AA 24 7." The tune's huge and the video's both mesmerizing and hilarious. As if that's not enough, the lads' cheery "always, anytime, 24/7" attitude is inspiring and infectious as all heck. Dudes take Yes Man to a whole new level. Role models like whoa. Anyways, Skull Juice did some work on the track, and we've got the product below. Though it's nothing to scoff at, I can't say I'd play this over the [...]

I'd like to say that everyone and their dog has heard "Carmina Burana," but the Justice , MSTRKRFT , and Soulwax only crowd very may well be a sizable exception to my declaration. Sad (and pathetic), but true. And here at Panda Toes we deal only with the exceptional, not the exceptions (pretend like that made sense and continue reading, please). Anywho, I'm speaking from my position as informer of the people in an effort to inform y'all (a.k.a. "the people"), thus righting these wrongs. The aforementioned MSTRKFT and their label pal Steve [...]

Mainstream boys and girls here, there, and everywhere fell in love with Peter Bjorn & John just as you hipster boys and girls were getting tired of them. Or rather, they began to notice P.B. & J. and y'all retaliated by deciding that liking these particular Swedes was no longer cool (enter Lykke Li , etc.) even though "Let's Call it Off" is clearly a super huge jam (an even huger jam than "Young Folks," obviously). But Peter Bjorn & John trucked on through the pain of unashamed abandonment and released 2008's Seaside Rock [...]

Though Bacardi's beverages aren't half bad, it's the company's music taste that really makes me love 'em. I posted about their B-Live project a mere week or so ago, and already I'm back to bring y'all more. Obviously the Twelves are involved, this time remixing London standouts Groove Armada . The lads maintain a relatively slow, relaxed vibe while crafting a disco bomb. Perhaps Travis worded it best when he so simply described this track: "Total party." Groove Armada - "Drop The Tough (The Twelves [...]

Those of you that were with me this summer might remember a post gushing about Monosurround's remarkable "Cocked Locked." Well Shir Khan recently shot us his take on the aforementioned group's "Mushroomed" and, well, I love it. Much like Le Corps Mince de Françoise , I'm getting dangerously obsessed with these dudes' music despite only knowing two or three of their tracks. Monosurround - "Mushroomed (Shir Khan Dub)" (Y.S.I.) And for those of you that don't know, DJ Class is a Baltimore artist on [...]

And we're back on Mickey Factz yet again. But don't blame me - it's not my fault dude's killing it. Here he raps over a SebastiAn beat (this could have been produced for him by the man himself, but it's equally likely this is just a Sebby cut I don't remember from my days of hyper obsessive Ed Banger stalking), and it's ace. I'm not quite sure what's going on at 1:44, but the other three minutes and forty five seconds of this track are some seriously enjoyable stuff. Catch him at S.O.B.'s a [...]

To kick things off, let's take a look at Ludacris's new video with T-Pain . It advocates drinking and driving (with added emphasis on avoiding the police), hooking up with ugly girls (specifically with gap teeth), and stealing big girls from their men. It goes something like this: People too picky these days, damn it. Too tall, too short, too fat, too skinny. Have a couple of drinks and stop discriminating. This has been a Luda service announcement. As far as mp3s go, we've got a [...]

Aight dudes and dudettes, tonight's a big night - our friends Old Money will be performing at Culture of Me's third birthday party. What's more, Famous Friends (who we also love) are throwing the party! Now here are a few tracks to rock while you pre-game the party: First up is a track from established Panda Toes favorite, Mickey Factz . Dude takes a slow beat and spits with with a frustrated demeanor throughout. His tone is anxious and the lyrics are grounding, yet there remains an undeniable spark that gives [...]

2008 was full of Dani Deahl posts, and 2009 looks to be no different. This time around we're featuring her new track "Poppin' Bottles." A seductive percussive set backs enormous rises and falls that truly captivate the listener. What's more, Whiskey Pete does a great job of keeping up with Dani's beats - his rhymes are nothing revolutionary, but his flow's plenty nice. When it all comes together, the track really bangs. Dani Deahl - "Poppin' Bottles Clip" (Y.S.I.) Dani Deahl - "Poppin' Bottles Clip" (zShare) [...]

I ride for Lily Allen like you wouldn't believe. Alright, Still was easily one of my favorite albums of 2006 and I simply can't wait for '09's It's Not Me, It's You - the hype all began with her video for "The Fear" and it only heightened when King Kong Klub's Christian Vorbau edited it. Not too much has changed from the original - C.V. more or less just added some dance elements to the cut to make it a shade easier to mix and prance about to. [...]

Well boys and girls, I hope you're enjoying a new hangover in a new year. And since we all know the best way to fix that problem is to start drinking again, I highly suggest y'all make your way down to the Fallout Lounge to catch resident DJs Billingham's Defense System and guest DJ Blake Ward tonight. And some Panda Toes DJing . And some seriously cheap and tasty drinks. And no cover charge for those of you of legal drinking age. And tunes. Etc. And for a sample of [...]

The Cowboys lost (to put it extremely mildly) to the hated Eagles yesterday afternoon. As expected, the humiliating defeat and elimination from the playoff race sent me spiraling into depression and illness. I became so sick, in fact, that I woke up at seven in the morning. Which of course gave me time to dork around on my robot and look for music. And thus this post was born. You can thank fumbles from Tony Romo (two), "Pacman" Jones, and Marion Barber for giving me the time to share a new edit by Buffalo's DJ DStar . [...]

Though nobody knows just how to pronounce her name, everybody and their dog seems to be a fan of Lykke Li . Her instrumental work is gorgeous and there's some charismatic spark hidden in those subdued vocals that have every hipster from here to Australia weeping with joy. It follows then that bloggers would be all over every last remix of any of her tracks. But how will y'all deal with hip-hop cats trying to take these songs to a whole new level? As is evidenced by the almighty Hype Machine , you download fiends are [...]
I've been M.I.A. for a minute, so I figured I should come back with a few holiday treats for y'all. The first is a Jokers of the Scene remix of an Andy George and Scott Cooper joint effort: "Jump and Twist." As is generally the case with the J.O.T.S. boys, the bass is overwhelmingly intense (a good thing, of course), the percussion is simple yet infectious, and the overall cut's lovely as can be. Be sure to write Electric Zoo a thank you note. Scott Cooper and Andy [...]
