When the Rolling Stones announce they're getting back to business, they mean they're getting back to business. After holding a surprise gig in Paris not long ago, the rock legends announced they will headline a huge show at Hyde Park in London on July 6. They'll perform there as part of the British Summer Time festival. Support n the day will come from The Vaccines, The Temper Trap, Gary Clark Jr and King Charles, plus Palma Violets, Tribes, The Boxer Rebellion and more. This [...]

When I first wrote about van Halen working with LL Cool J, I had to check the date for April Fools first. Even though combining rock and hip-hop is hardly revolutionary these days, this certain collaboration seems at leaast a little odd. The duo joined forces on LL's upcoming new release "Authentic," set for a release on April 30 via S-Bro Music Group. Despite the rapper being confident that the collaboration is the winning ticket from the very start, van Halen was very skeptical at firs - but [...]

Metal legends and pioneers Judas Priest have recently released a cover and a date for the release of their latest album. "Epitaph" will mark 40 years of "heavy metal dominance" with a total of 23 live tracks recorded on the closing night of the group's latest and final world tour. Yes, that's probably the last time Judas Priest ever went live. The album will feature at least one track from each of their 14 classic releases from 1974 to 2008: "Heavy metal [...]

He's still rude. His beats still aren't orthodox. If you were expecting a run of the mill, traditional rap album this probably isn't the one for you. That being said, if you want an exciting, multifaceted, twisted experience, Tyler's got you covered. There's so many different sounds and genres packed into this album that it almost positively has something for every hip hop listener. Most people didn't catch onto Tyler, the Creator until after the release of Yonkers and the accompanying album, Goblin. But after that point Tyler's fame skyrocketed and many fans didn't bother to [...]
So, April Foolsâ Day is almost over. You know, that one day of the year when creative (and not so creative) minds in many countries of the world come up with elaborate schemes to trick their families and friends into believing ridiculous things, like how their teenage daughter and all of her friends suddenly decides that theyâre going to be pregnant at the same time so they can laugh hysterically as their parents convulse into massive seizures. Most people would be cautious enough to not believe everything they read on the internet (ten people on my Facebook friends list all [...]

Five of the bands I am most looking forward to at Live At Leeds, the city music festival taking place over May Bank HolidayâŚfor the price of what, 4 pints in London? 1975 Huw Stevens, Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton all love The City  by 1975 , and I am inclined to agree that as upbeat summer struts go, itâs not at all bad. Now letâs find some summer. Little Comets Thundering slaps, wailing and whirring, jangling [...]

A few days ago we were talking about the very interesting, but controversial album art released by Fall Out Boy, and now they come back. Fall Out Boy plays a pretty fun tribute to Quentin Tarantino's classic movie "Pulp Fiction," gathering around a mysterious metal briefcase and getting kidnapped by beautiful women - the life. ccording to the band, new video is a prequel to the previous single "My Songs Know What You Did In The Dark (Light 'Em Up)." If you ever listened to the song, it should be easy [...]

Just when we were growing fond of My Chemical Romance, and when they showed they have the potential to make some really good music, they write this on their website: "like all great things, it has come time for it to end." No preparation, no announce, no goodbye - nothing. But the fans don't want to give up that easily. With an over 15,000-strong online petition, they are now calling the band to get back on the road for one final time and at least say a proper [...]

The guys over at Queens of the Stone Age are usually pretty mysterious about their future plans, but they've promised an extensive world tour in support of their long-awaited new record " ...Like Clockwork" which is out in June. No official dates or places have been released, but the band promised to hit the road in a big way, after spending so much time in the studio and away from the fans. What we do know is that they'll probably be hitting several festivals, including Download [...]

After 12 years and 4 studio albums, My Chemical Romance announce the end of the band, in a blog post. It all started with some rumors, which were then denied, MCR claiming to be working on a new album, but now, this gets posted on their blog : Being in this band for the past 12 years has been a true blessing. We've gotten to go places we never knew we would. We've been able to see and experience things we never imagined possible. We've shared the stage with people we admire, people [...]

Now is this the type of headline that will make people in the industry cringe, or what? There have been a countless number of people who have tirelessly argued that piracy kills traditional sales. However, according to a new study conducted by researchers at The Institute for Prospective Technological Studies, a part of the European Commissionâs Joint Research Centre (JRC), illegally downloading music does not have a harmful impact on music sales. "It seems that the majority of the music that is consumed illegally by the individuals in our sample would not have been [...]

The legendary prog rock Pink Floyd, arguably the best band ever, are best known for their distinguished use of philosophical lyrics, sonic experimentation, and elaborate live shows; they revolutionized a big part of music as we know it today, but if producer Bob Ezrin had his way, the band might have switched luscious soundscapes for processed beats during their late 1980s comeback. While working on A Momentary Lapse Of Reason", Ezrin had suggested that the band introduce some rap elements into their music: "I became fascinated with it in the Afrika Bambaataa days... I'm an early [...]

If you ask me, Manowar music makes me want to drink and defend my country from demonic legions, but according to bassist Joey de Maio, it's all about drinking and love. In a recent interview on Russian Ekburg TV, he discussed the band's sound in general: "[..] heavy metal is about power and sound. And we have the most powerful people, so we have to give them top sound, the top people deserve the top sound." When asked about the [...]
I'm pretty sure Ozzy Osborne is going to outlive the entire human species, especially considering how his genome actually mutated and now thrives on alcohol, but apparently, he only has one thing let on his bucket list: a collaboration with Adele . "I'd die a happy man, I think she's f-king great. She's not f-king botox-faced, she's a normal, healthy girl who speaks in her native accent." He was discussing Black Sabbath producer Rick Rubin 's involvement in [...]

Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger has revealed that he is working on the new Pearl Jam album. We found this out (how else ?) from his twitter, where he posted: "In the studio with my girl and Eddie Vedder, recording strings for Pearl Jam's new album." I'm really curious about this Pearl Jam album, apparently it will be a little different than what they've done. Guitarist Mike McCready has described it as a cross between punk rock and Pink Floyd: [...]

Well I know most of you could not possibly care less about this, but I'm a long standing Man United fan, so I'll beg your forgiveness on this one. Back when defender Gary Neville was the big gun there, rock was all that was played in the locker room. But following his retirement and the infusion of new players, rap and R&B took over - mostly supported by Patrice Evra. Thankfully though, goalkeeper David De Gea has stepped in to defend the honor of the heavy sound. He successfully insisted [...]

Mumford & Sons banjo player Winston Marshal has recently confessed that their attitude is not really Rock 'n' Roll, but a little more on the soft side - as if that was needed from a band who has a banjo player. "We're not, like, hard men. We're emotional. We're not rock'n'roll. If AC/DC apologized, that'd be the end of their career. But someone doesn't say hello to us and we're like, 'I cannot believe the gall!'" The group's frontman Marcus Mumford also [...]
