Right down to the wire for our second best of 2008 post. This list of original music is a little longer than our best of remixes run down. There were just too many to widdle it down! As with the previous list , all of these tunes are A1 quality bad ass shit and should be purchased. Bitrates have been dropped down to a level which comes across as decent for casual listening but will sound like complete ass when being played out. If you're a DJ, please use the buy links provided and support these artists. [...]

Here's the first in our best of 2008 posts. I've narrowed this down to a short list of fifteen remixes that we really fell in love with over the past year. Some were blogged on here, some where not. All of these tunes are A1 quality bad ass shit and should be purchased. I've dropped down the bitrate on most of the tunes to a respectable level and also included buy links to ensure people support the artists. This is the cream of the crop after all! Without further adieu, the best remixes of 2008 (in [...]

After a few weeks of css by trial and error, sore eyes and coffee headaches, I'm happy to finally launch version 2 of Curb Crawlers today. A number of people have expressed their fondness fo r the original layout so I tried my best to keep v2 as true to it's roots as possible. Here's a short rundown of some of the improvements / adjustments found in todays launch. New Layout : Ditched the old left aligned style for a more traditional centered layout. Just picked up this bangin' rework that our friends at The Heatwave dugg up from their vaults and decided to share. Although this edit is well over four years in age, it's surprising how relevant the sound is today. Oizo 's Flat Beat laid the groundwork for years of wonky, bass-fueled floor steppers and given that 2008's popular sound often incorporated elements of Dancehall or Reggae, it seams all too fitting to unleash Capleton 's lyrical spit over the bubbly bass classic as this year comes to [...]

Stumbled across the backdrop for this picture in a pretty interesting way. After hours spend scouring the net for decent photo, I came across this little birdie wall sketch someone had posted on flickr taken on recent summer vacation. Somewhere in the photo's description was the word "worthy" (in the dictionary sense). Kismet? perhaps. Worthy most recent release entitled Madcap is out now on the SF based Anabatic Records . Anabatic, formally named Ka tabatic, was recently forced to change their name after an Oakland based "death shite, weirdcore, abandoned house, zombient and queasy listening" label using the name Katabatik slapped [...]
Sorry for the lack of posts recently. I've been keeping hella busy working up some neato best of 2008 lists that will make their way online very shortly. Going to make a honest effort to add a few lists that offer something a bit different from the run-of-the mill "best tunes" or "best remixes" run downs. Keep an eye for the first of the series soon! Also been hard at work coding the new version of the blogs theme. Only ironing out a few gremlins at this point so expect v2.0 to go live around the [...]

Been sitting on this one for a few weeks now. With Voodoo riddims unearthed from the bone yard, Ghostman slays the dance with this sinister sounding floor slammer. Chalk full of rattling percussion and dusty subs, 25th Hour shakes the haunted house to it's frame. Watch the breakdown. Those waiting for the recent Tartelet release by MHM One will be happy to know that the EP is now available in all shops. Three tracks in total, Bububadub keeps pace with some proper drum work and a deep rolling bassline. Fans of the Micro-Deep house sound should take note and pick this up if you haven't already. Also, be sure to keep an eye open for MHM One's forthcoming remix of Atoi's One Upon A Time to dropping in January 2009. MHM One - Unga [...]

Found this completely awesome image blog called Drillpop via You Work For Them this morning and thought it would only be proper to share. Vintage Thai and Japanese movie posters plus a pretty unique take on modifying blogger. Neat!
