Babe Rainbow

Babe Rainbow Babe Rainbow is Cameron Reed from Vancouver, BC. He makes slow, sludgy dubstep (or "doomstep"). Dirty, fuzzy synths sound like they're being pulled apart over bass-heavy beats. Here's a video with a small preview of the track "Care" from his debut EP "Shaved," out now on Warp Records : Here's the title track from "Shaved," along with the official video: Download it here: Shaved (via Clumsy & Shy ) [...]

Wise Blood

Little is known about Wise Blood, except that his name is Christopher Laufman, and the few short, hazy lo-fi pop tunes he's been posting online this year have earned him a lot of attention. His songs are blurry collages based around samples with his own faded, soulful vocals riding on top. In a "Rising" article, he told Pitchfork , "I want to sign a big contract and take over pop music...I think it could [work out]. Pretty confident." Expect big things in the future. He just released a new song, due out on a 7" on Transparent [...]

No Title The Ecstasy of Saint Theresa are nowhere near newbies, but coming back after quite a break with a new album very soon, they are definitely worth mentioning. And from what we saw on Friday night - the new material really is something not to be missed! Website // MySpace // Twitter // Facebook

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy Physical Therapy is the resident DJ for NYC's GHE20 G0THIK parties, and here we have a remix he did of Alicia Keys's "Unthinkable (I'm Ready)." PT takes the already haunting melody and brings it to a dark new place, turning the originally prominent vocals into another eerie wash in the texture. Check it out below (along with a seriously strange video): You can also download it here . Peep the original here: [...]

Geneva Jacuzzi

Geneva Jacuzzi "Geneva Jacuzzi (aka Geneva Garvin) fronted a number of mysterious and fleeting performances under hilarious and perfunctory aliases (Pregnant, Hot Pajamas, Sex Carpet) before building her permanent home in Bubonic Plague. Her music is quasi-occult mystery, flippant wit and quizzical torch, enshrined in the unsuspecting and jazzy veneer of sundry electronic music styles that range from darkwave goth-lounge to tropicalia." "The first official solo release from Geneva Garvin. Lamaze is a collection of 15 lo-fi gems recorded between 2004-2009 that were compiled by Geneva and mastered by Ariel [...]
