Here’s the new video from Neils Children entitled “Trust You”. The track is featured on the UK band’s forthcoming album Dimly Lit , which you can pre-order  here . That first verse is basically “Waiting for the Sun” by The Doors , but then they unleash their love for Broadcast and get more psychedelic. Looking forward to this album and getting to know their back catalog.

Acteurs , which features Disappears/90 Day Men-man Brian Case and Jeremy Lemos, just dropped their prodding, six-track, self-titled mini-album this week through Public Information, and it’s really hard to climb out of your headphones once you dive into this record. Lots of comparisons to Neu and Factory Floor, and both of those are accurate. Sample the album above then buy it at the duo’s Bandcamp — the vinyl is limited to 400 copies. Autechre - Exai , out now digitally through WARP. Two and a half hours of electronic music that’s beyond description. The word “calculus” comes to mind.

Here’s “Lux”, the B-side to Death and Vanilla ’s fantastic new 7-inch single, “From Above” — previously posted here . I’ve heard this single has encountered a few delays, but it’s square-shaped red vinyl so definitely worth the trouble. “Lux” is a bit more patient and sedative than its big sister, but it’s still a delicious time-warp of a track.

A kind word on my Quietus piece from Bob Mould : nedraggett : Seriously, my brain is melting. He’s only one of the few people out there who’d even HEARD anything Shields et al were doing these past twenty years. Ned’s write-up and first thoughts on the new MBV for The Quietus are pretty solid.

2009 is the year where I rekindled my love for music blogging . It's also the first time in years where I actually wrote about music without an attachment to salary or advertising/revenue expectations. B logging is supposed to be enjoyable, and it is, again. If there's music I'm going to post it's because I love it, or at least really like it enough to share with my friends and readers. Here’s brand new music from the Flaming Lips entitled “Sun Blows Up Today”. According to the band’s website, it’s featured as a non-album bonus track (digital only), and by “non-album” I’m referring to their forthcoming album, The Terror , coming April 2 through longtime label Warner Bros. Records. This song is all kinds of cherry bombpop sunshine and hugs, which works fine as a Super Bowl  commercial jingle , but I prefer the classic  noisy jams .
