A little over 24 hours after In Rainbows was made available the remixes started popping up on the net. This one, by Mojib , is a remix of the albums closer Videotape . So it looks like _radio_update continues.
....but I decided that I wouldn't rush to review it, just to be one of the first. Initial impressions are good - very good. It's definitely a Radiohead album, not a Thom Yorke plus cronies affair. There is plenty blog inches elsewhere about not only the album, but how it was released, you don't need to come here to read about it. It's become a moral dilemma. But we're morality free here at the trinity of divinity - Hurrah! G

Eddie Vedder – Into The Wild During the whole WMD fiasco Eddie Vedder and Sean Penn became close friends. And it was Sean Penn that asked Eddie Vedder to pen his first solo affort. Into The Wild was written specifically for a new film telling the story of a young man who gives all his money to charity and hitchhikes to a new life-and his eventual death-in the wilds of Alaska. Vedder collaborated closely with Penn during the shoot, [...]

20_Borrowed_Beats_October_07_E dition Long Weekend + Sunshine = Dance Festivals I'm getting a little long in the tooth to wear Flouro and my 11 year old sisters jeans, but you're never too old for some quality Doof Doof. No Crunk, Hyphie or Hard Dubstep here, but even if there was, would you know it if you heard it? This month I've put together some of my favourite electronic tracks, but have kept it fairly sequencer light - I'm feeling more 'sunny beaches' than 'dark lazer filled dance floors'... This month is also the [...]

The Radio_update R adiohead watch I've been on has ended far sooner than I would have guessed. I had anticipated months of cryptic clues together with a rumour mill endlessly churning out track lists that would send everyone on a peer to peer freny. But, this is Radiohead we're talking about, so they subvert expectations again. Nice one Boys. Their new album In Rainbows is available from this website as a digital [...]

Green Day (12 Inch Mix) - Mo' Horizons Just thought I'd get us all in the mood for the long weekend ( in Oz ) with a little Friday Funk. This Jazzy Funky number is the perfect mood setter for a long and sunny weekend at the beach. Enjoy, G

OUTRAGE – REUNION OUTRAGE (AND THAT'S THE WORST KIND!) Anyone know of a good T Shirt printer? I want one that reads " TOO MANY REUNIONS ". It seems that every second day there is another exciting announcement that some long since past-it band is getting together again for some of that over priced and over croweded ATM reunioun tour dollar. When The Police announced their reunion, most folks were mildly excited at the prospect of seeing them live. Granted the $200 price tag meant that I [...]

Les Savy Fav – Lets Stay Friends Following rumours of the band splitting up (after anumber of solo projects), Lets Stay Friends could be considered the perfect title for a swan song album. (Swan album?) Thankfully, any though of this is laid to rest in the closing line of the first track. 'Pots & Pans ' ends with: "Let's tear this whole place down and build it up again/ This band's a beating heart and it's nowhere near its end." Les Savy Fav have always [...]

I'm used to Radiohead being ahead of the gang. They were always at the coalface with their music, their videos and their marketing. How disappointment then, that with their latest teaser, I can't help thinking about Trent . Yesterday on their webpage , a series of strange frown bearing boxy wavers appeared. All in a row. Through the power of the internet, and all things geek , I can now tell you that the initial message was a ' cryptogram '. oooOOOoooh! That initial message spelled out the further [...]

Those crazy and kind folk - Deerhoof Another great _heads up! today with news that those crazy kids Deerhoof are giving away an album of live and rare recordings! Included in the package are remixes ( Rrrrrrrright: germlin remix ), alternative versions ( milk man) and cover versions ( The Perfect me by So Cow ). I know you're gonna dig it, because Deerhoof is the most searched word on triplejaysus! You can get it [...]

PJ Harvey – White Chalk Ive been a fan of Polly Jean since 'rid of me' was on high rotation in my room during third year of university in 1993. We have both changed quite a bit since then. ' Stories if the City' was the sound track of a summer in 2000. That album was PJ 's 'falling in love' album, and was followed by her 'breaking up' album 'uh huh her' [...]

Britney – come back or come down? Fiddy Vs Kanye – Who cares? There is a lot of flurry in the music press that has mileage. I toyed with the idea of trying to keep abreast of the noteworthy, and injecting some triplejaysus satire… Thankfully, you'll be glad to hear I resisted the temptation. Triplejaysus is about great music. As an American friend of mine once said, "Period". So the badly mutilated Kayne photo is more to tell you that I won't be featuring him. Well, [...]

Bad Religion - New Maps of Hell Punk. Not Skate Punk , not Sportz Metal but Punk. Do you remember what punk stood for? Punk used to be about activists calling us to action. Anarchy, uprising, question authority, throw your hands in the air. It's the 'wave them like you just don't care' bit that is the problem. Bad Religion haven't forgotten what punk is, but their latest album, New Maps of Hell , gives me the impression that they have realised that everyone else has. [...]

Radiohead - yesterday* But don't get too under excited just yet! Jonny Greenwood spoke to Paste.com revealing his secret shame that radiohead have indeed finished recording and mastering their new opus. " We just had a meeting...today ," Greenwood told Paste.com on September 7. " We're very relieved to have finished recording. Now we have to decide what we should do with it ." Radiohead fulfilled their contract with EMI upon releasing Hail to the Theif [...]
Luciano Pavarotti died at age 71 earlier today. Sources close to Mr Pavarotti cannot confirm the involvement of Paul Potts at this stage. I sympathise with Italians over the loss of Mr Pavarotti, because I know what it feels like to lose a Tenor.

Did you ever had one of those days?

The Smashing Pumpkins - Zeitgeist These things DO come along in threes! First we had Dinosaur Jr recapture the Nineties and now my favourite navel gazing grungers return with a much hyped release. There has been much derision following Senor Corgan's comeback, and not all of it unfounded. It's difficult to refute the ATM release label when you release 5 (That's FIVE ) versions of the album, each with a different bonus track! You have to buy the album at Target to get the title track! Just have [...]
