Drake x The Weeknd x Star Slinger – "Crew Love"

Star Slinger took Drake and Weeknd's infinitely awesome "Crew Love" and replaced Illangelo and Tesfey's synth washes and twinkling lines of piano with his signature skittering breakbeats, giving the track serious club potential (not the first setting that comes to mind when I'm thinking about listen to The Weeknd ). Download it below: Continue reading: Drake x The Weeknd x Star Slinger - "Crew Love" Read more articles like " Drake x The Weeknd x Star [...]

New: The Neighbourhood – "Wires"

The Neighbourhood - Wires [cut]
We've been crushing on The Neighbourhood's "Sweater Weather " for a few weeks now. So we're pretty stoked that their EP, I'm Sorry is out on Monday. Check out new hip hop-leaning cut "Wires." It's a good time to be a dude making effortlessly catchy indie pop –– just look at Gotye , Fun. and Foster The People's recent blockbuster successes. We'd put money on The Neighbourhood being the next indie pop sensation to chip away at David Guetta -esque house-pop's stronghold [...]

Yeasayer Announce Brief 2012 Tour

Yeasayer have been really quite for a while, but now it seems the Brooklyn psych jammers are coming back. They've just announced six shows in June (all in the South) and a lone festive date in Montreal. We're assuming this news won't immediately satisfy their fans on a wide-scale, but we can be sure that the band will be trying out some new material live this summer. Check out the dates below: Continue reading: Yeasayer Announce Brief 2012 Tour Read more articles like " Yeasayer Announce Brief 2012 Tour [...]

Video: A$AP Rocky – "Goldie"

A$AP Rocky - Goldie
A$AP Rocky just released this flashy new video for "Goldie," the first single from his first official album, LongLiveA$AP . The clip was directed by Rocky and was styled by Alexander Wang –– so as you can imagine, it prominently focuses on Rocky's penchant for debauchery and flamboyance. This manifests itself as vintage cars, naked models and all gold everything. You've been warned, officedwellers. MP3: RAC & Penguin Prison – "Hollywood"

You know RAC for their remixes – in fact, smart, catchy re-imaginations of other people's songs are all we've heard from them to date. But now, Green Label Sound is dropping the first ever original single from RAC , "Hollywood," which features vocals from Penguin Prison mastermind Chris Glover , and it's a great summer pop jam that would fit in effortlessly on Top 40 radio. We're digging that wandering bassline and those playful, bubbly guitar riffs, but Glover's versatile vocals, as he reckons [...]

New: 2 Chainz & Drake – "No Lie"

The first single from 2 Chainz ' Def Jam debut Based on a T.R.U. Story is the Drake -featuring "No Lie." For a track that's 2 Chainz' on the package, there's a lot of Drake on this one – he sings the choruses, raps a verse or two, and sounds pretty good doing it. As for Chainz himself, however – well, he's as eccentric as ever, which is to say his delivery is mainly made up of weirdly shouted, hashtag-laden verses. He's been [...]

MP3: ScHoolboy Q & TiRon – "Love Me Not"

We're still in love with ScHoolboy Q 's Habits & Contradictions , so we're psyched to hear that his star is (rightfully) on the rise – next up for Q is a team effort with TiRon of California rap duo The Cafeteria Line and producer Chuck Inglish , "Love Me Not." The song's title and the familiar childhood rhyme from which it comes – "she loves me, she loves me not" – [...]

New Young Pony Club: "You Used To Be A Man"

New Young Pony Club - You Used To Be A Man
It's been a while since we heard anything from the UK's New Young Pony Club , but they're back with a new single, "You Used To Be A Man," and attendant video. They've still got that nervous bubblegum pop thing going – Tahita Bulmer's layered vocals walk a thin line between sexy and creepy as background synth drones and whistle-able, catchy riffs compete for attention with driving, complex beats. The video, directed by Laura Buckley , is fantastically weird, full of kaleidoscoping mirrors and shadows. Check it out. Continue reading: [...]

New DIIV (formerly Dive): "Doused"

We're okay with the fact that the Brooklyn outfit formerly known as Dive are going by DIIV now – it's pronounced the same, it's way easier to Google, and it's no longer easy to confuse them with the seminal Belgian post-punk band also called Dive . We're also totally okay with this news because along with it DIIV dropped probably the best song we've heard from them so far, the chilly, dark "Doused." Continue reading: New DIIV (formerly Dive): "Doused" Read [...]

New Niki & The Dove: "All This Youth" & "Taylor"

Sub Pop's new Swedish duo Niki & The Dove are releasing their full length debut Instinct on May 14th in the UK (unfortunately there isn't a US release date on the horizon), and while we've heard several tracks from the album (including the album's incredible lead single "Tomorrow" ), they aren't done promoting the album. Yesterday, popular UK publications NME and The Guardian both premiered bonus cuts from the album's deluxe edition––and yes, they're really, really good, but what did you expect? Listen to "All This Youth" and "Taylor" [...]
