If like me you've been wondering 'What the hell are Free Blood up to?', wonder no more. Not such much as a peep since 'The Singles' came out in 2008 (maybe they were waiting for an Olympic year?), you can now get your ears around new track 'Cleaning House' which is available as a free download from their website (or just click the link below). Free Blood- Cleaning House (Download)

A very nice appendage to the Pye Corner Audio LP is this mixtape that you can grab from 20jazzfunkgreats . It's a splendid blend that takes in Kuedo, Holy Other, Kassem Mosse and many more. From it we are featuring Rasmus Folks 'Dinner in Trieste' which is as good a slice of dream pop as you are likely to find anywhere on this planet. You can find the EP over at Boomkat , the vinyl is even discounted at the moment too. Rasmus Folks- Dinner in Trieste (Download)

Sunday afternoon's in the UK (and around the world via the Internet) are reserved for Jarvis Cocker's 6Music broadcast; yesterday's program was particularly good as it featured Jarvis's recent interview with Leonard Cohen , who is releasing his new record 'Old Ideas' this week. You'll struggle to find a more discerning interviewer and interviewee all year; have a listen here if you missed it. We're featuring a track from Beck as part of his 'Songs Of Leonard Cohen' Record Club series. Beck- Winter Lady (Download)

A little disco action for a Friday; Brighton's Soft Rocks released their LP 'Disco Power Play' last year and as the name suggests, it's crammed full of dance floor heat. We're featuring 'South African Cut & Shut' which will have your booty shaking in no time. Get the record from Piccadilly . Soft Rocks- South African Cut & Shu t (Download)

Maybe a little early to be dreaming of the summer months, let Roof Light warm you up with a psychedelic sunshine pop mix; A splendid blend all recorded from wax that features the likes of Strawberry Alarm Clock, David Bowie, Billy Nichols, Buffalo Springfield and bundles more. Have a listen below, it's also available as a download from Soundcloud .

New LP from the Head Technician to tell you about which could well be an early contender for record of the year. The long player 'Black Mill Tapes Vol 3' is out this week, it's another exemplary foray in to audio excellence; a neat blend of delicate electronics and sludgy techno ('Electronic Rhythm Number Five' is a particular favorite round these parts). Listen to the full album below and pick it up over at Bandcamp . &a mp;amp;amp;amp;lt;a href=" http://pyecorneraudio.bandcamp .com/album/black-mill-tapes-vo l-3"&a mp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt;Black Mill Tapes Vol.3 by &a mp;amp;amp;amp;lt;span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"& amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;am p;amp;gt;Pye&a mp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt; /span& amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;gt; Corner Audio& amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;lt;/a& amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;amp;am p;amp;amp;gt;

Sad news about the passing of Etta James at the age of 73; one of THE voices of her (and any) generation, I've a feeling she's an artist whose legend will only rise in her passing. Her biography 'Rage to Survive' looks like a hell of a read too. Some music from her 1980 release 'Changes' and the awesome P Funk strut of 'Night People'. Etta James- Night People (Download)

Something rather beautiful for the weekend sir? L.Pierre is a nom de plume for that splendidly potty mouthed bastard, Aidan Moffat (I'm sure he isn't a bastard, it just kinda fitted the sentence). 'Dip' came out in 2007 and it's overflowing with gorgeous melodies, perfect for wrapping up and beating those January blues away with. We are featuring 'Weir's Way' which is a tribute to TV presenter Tom Weir and his show 'Weir's Way'. L.Pierre- Weir's Way (Download)

Peaking Lights got a lot of love in the recent end of year polls, I'm not quite sure why to be honest with you; 'All the sun that shines, shine for you' is hardly the most inspired of lyrics in this day and age.. Anyway, they recently put out a remix EP and enlisted the chaps from 100% Silk to give their tracks a spot of cut and pasting; Ital, Cuticle and Innergaze all turn in excellent reworks, it's the latters who we feature here. Slow mo acid haus. Get the EP at Boomkat [...]

Beginning the week in fine fettle with a classic from the hand of Mr Neil Young; 'The Old Laughing Lady' is from the Canadians debut solo release and is the perfect thing to ease you through this supposed ' Blue Monday '. Neil Young- The Old Laughing Lady (Download)

Been having a little Luke Vibert session of late, more specifically his mid 2000's releases 'Yoseph' and 'Lover's Acid' ; two stellar releases that marvelously showcase Vibert's mad production skills. It's the title track to 'Lover's Acid' that we feature today, a beatific, bubbling slice of 505 joy. Luke Vibert- Lover's Acid (Download)

Boomkat haven't taken very long in coming up with the first musical genre of 2012; this weeks 14 Tracks service focuses on knackered house: 'Coined by Modern Love's Andy Stott, the phrase "Knackered House" best describes that strain of liminal, busted production we can't get enough of. Taking a blurry-eyed, shifty perspective on a well trodden sound, these artists yield a selection perfect for those lost hours in the dead of night' It's a stellar selection of tunes, with contributions from Kassem Mosse, Pye Corner Audio with Advisory Circle, [...]

Royalty's recent EP release 'Purple Nights' is some sure fire heat; lead track 'Cookie Dough' is an old school electro throw down which is backed up with a choice rework from dance floor minx Jimmy Edgar. We feature 'Heart Strings' which will make your body move. Check the full release at Boomkat . Royalty- Heart Strings (Download)

Today's entry has been rattling around my coconut for the last couple of months, I first heard it on a hung over Sunday morning whilst visiting some friends; the compilation playing had been put together by Hunter (Aged 3) and this was his favorite tune. Once back home my clouded vision impaired me of the track's vital information (I.E. who the track was by). Eventually the pieces fell into place and it turns out the tune had been loitering in my iTunes all along; The Limiñanas self titled debut came out in 2010 and you will undoubtedly hear [...]

As it's been a while here's an extra treat for a Monday; Andrew Weatherall is currently plying his trade down under and put together this mix to get you in the party mood. No track list unfortunately but you know the score, a marvelous selection of early doors disco. Many thanks to Bagging Area for the heads up on this.

Happy new year to one and all; we kick off 2012 with a supreme slice of space disco courtesy of Principles of Geometry , their new LP 'Burn The Land & Boil The Oceans' is due imminently on Tigersushi .
