My studio is in complete disarray today as I'm working on a new original tune called "100 Bars (And Nothing To Drink)". Contrary to the sound of the title, it's not a country tune; in fact, it's a snappy little samba number with a scrunchy guitar and a lot of banging around. Someday, it may become a country tune; I can hear it blasting out the window of a Chevy already. It'll be posted on Skribblisque when it's done. In the meantime, I've put together this little set of tunes, all downloaded [...]
Heavy on the acoustic guitars and emoting singer-songwriters , this set of pop music tastiness has the vibe of a college apartment hang in the early 70's. Put on the mixtape , pour the Sangria and light up some of that stuff your roommate keeps behind his uncle's World War II footlocker and feel the heady vibe . America - Riverside ( America , 1971, Warner Brothers) James Taylor - Traffic Jam ( JT , 1977, Columbia) [...]

From Pacifica Radio's website: Fifty years ago, on October 3, Judge Clayton Horn ruled that Allen Ginsberg's great epic Beat-era poem HOWL was not obscene but instead, a work of literary and social merit. This ruling allowed for the publication of HOWL and exonerated the poet Lawrence Ferlinghetti , who faced jail time and a fine 50 years ago for publishing "HOWL." Fifty years later, with draconian FCC fines for language infractions, you still can't hear HOWL on the radio. [...]

Recorded Tuesday, October 2, 2007 It's been almost three weeks since I've done a live mix so I was a bit rusty out of the gate. Plus, I built the set around a stack of CD's from the library that I've never heard. But I think it came out pretty well. Anytime you can hear Hall and Oates and BeBop Deluxe in the same set, well, your ears are bound to have fun. Snow Patrol - How To Be Dead (A and M) ELO - Strange Magic (UA) St. Etienne [...]
