The Prodigy is always a favorite to remix, but it's rare that I get an e-mail telling me why the remixer didn't like the original. Usually it's "Oh I loved it and I wanted to put my spin on it." But Germany's Dirty Disco Youth was dead honest, stating that the original's breaks/dnb feel wasn't his thing, but he felt something special about it and wanted to create a hard electro monster out of it. Well, goal achieved. His "Omen" remix is hard-hitting, keeping some of the elements of the original which will win over [...]

We got this in the mail the day of the Inauguration, but as I said, Subdrive operations were out because we were in DC rocking out with the millions of our fellow crazed Americans. The American Dream Team boys wanted to celebrate and welcome the 44th President with arms wide open by starting off the new presidency with a spankin' new remix of Trouble Andrew 's "Chase Money". If you're still in DC this weekend or live there, do not miss TADT performing live at the Rock & Roll Hotel [...]

In celebration of Obama as President! Adam Freeland got together with some crazy Kubrik toys and had a dream about Daft Punk playing out on their Pyramid in celebration of Obama winning the Presidency. The trippy visuals and stop-motion animation are fantastic, and when Obama comes out its just hilariously classic. If you want this in even higher res, check out the Vimeo version !

Ok so pardon my lateness. I just got back from DC from the insanity that was Inauguration 2009 for Barack Obama. I've never seen my hometown so insane; it was like New York during New Year's! Stussy DC threw a crazy party at their Florida Ave location with the District's own WALE and Bun B of UGK, the Artist's Ball was raging down near the convention center, and people in the millions chanted out Obama's name once he swore the Presidential oath. Crazy all that happened in 2 days. [...]

Sony's new PlayStation Network TV spot looks extremely similar to a video from a distinctive French-duo we all know. And what, no animation on the PSN logo??

Oh, I know, it's definitely been a while since I've written a decent post. Well folks, trust me, it's going to be worth it after you see the new site and hear about all the stuff we've got planned for 2009. With that said, I'd like to bring your attention to the Bay area duo named NONEWYORK . Signed onto Acid Jack 's IDIOT HOUSE imprint, NONEWYORK produce bassline and bass heavy house music. Did I say it was dark and heavy? "Cocaine Bassline" is a great snapshot of the duo's sound. [...]

We sure do love Streetlab around these parts. They just sent us their latest cut from their upcoming EP titled Bootlegs and B-Sides filled with the aforementioned, of course. You may know this track if you downloaded their SELEKTOR mix recently. It's The Beatles' classic "Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club" with a very familiar Streetlab touch: the deep bass, pumping beat, and that energetic but laid back energy the boys lay onto their tracks. If you're in NYC on February 13th, check them out performing at the Apple Store [...]

So the industry finally caved in to Apple , well, in a way. Today Apple announced that their iTunes music, app, and video store is going 100% DRM-Free on the music side by April this year. What does that mean? Once you buy it you can share your songs on multiple computers with a higher-quality file. They also introduced new pricing tiers: $0.99 cents, $0.69 cents, and $1.29. Depending on how the music labels offer music, Apple will price accordingly. It's being said that the "hottest" or top tracks will be sold at $1.29. [...]

Well, I'm a bit delayed with the Happy New Year to you all. But seriously, 2008 was a fantastic year and like I've said before we're looking to make 2009 even better. We've got some huge announcements coming in the next few weeks. But for now, enjoy a clip our boy VDRK from Famous Friends made from over 1200 pictures from their New Year's Eve party with AC Slater, Udachi, and Kill the Noise!
