Tomorrow night (Wednesday 7 November) is going to be very special, I am getting the opportunity to see 2 great bands I have never seen before play at my favorite venue in Brisbane for $17.50, and the funny thing is they are not even headlining!! The Soft Tigers Firstly The Soft Tigers, an amazingly unique band out of Sydney who have just released their debut album Gospel Ambitions. An album who's theme is one we can all relate to [...]

I think it would be wrong to keep this blog to dance music when Indie Rock will always live closest to my heart. I will give you a feel of some albums that have excited and entertained me throughout this year plus their corresponding remix. Although some of the bands below are definitely crossing over to the dance spectrum you will always find them slicing the prism of Indie Rock. Download; The Sunshine Underground - Borders The Sunshine Underground – Borders (Goodbooks [...]

Last Weekend - Pomomofo I was fortunate enough last weekend to get myself to Empire on Friday night to see an absolutely brilliant band. Unfortunately for them their booking agent obviously did not do their homework and the result of Indy Fever caused the dance floor to seem some what lonely. However the lack of crowd did not stop this three piece (Guitar, Synth, Drums) Indy, Electro, Punk Rock, Pop outfit from causing me to dance harder then I had probably ever danced before. The cause of this uncontrollable movement throughout my body was a punk [...]
Grafton Primary I was told about this duo from Sydney by a friend called Susie who happened to see them play a small gig at Rosies a month or so ago. I immediately checked them out on myspace and was over whelmed at how great they instantly sounded as the track "Relativity" blasted through my headphones one early morning. My excitement built with anticipation throughout the song as I heard the first lyrics come in and realised that this band was attempting to use relativity as a metaphor for love and hitting it right on the [...]

I thought I would try to post a play list ever month or so just because I realised there has been a little bit of interest form my friends in this blog. I thought it would be good to keep you all up to date with what I am listening to so we can talk about how good this or that track is next time I see you. Not that I would only want to talk about music or any thing but we all just think in self interest don't we? They will all be CD sized and I highly [...]

If music is heard by one and that sound is translated to another, the word needs to express an action or state of being - the only means is via a verb – And in the words of Tim Ford Intimidating (frightened into submission) - (Parklife - Track played by Busy P and then Justice after first playing Phantom Pt I and Pt II, I guess you could call it a Pt III) Justice – Phantom Pt 11 (Soulwax Remix) (Buy it From Itunes) [...]
I thought it would only make sense to post some thing about Soulwax as they are my Gods. As much as I like dancing to Nite Versions nothing will ever beat their original rock material. Their set at Big Day Out 06 still stands as the best hour in my life. I will start with their first album "Leave the Story Untold" released in 1996 before I think the Dewaele's owned at synthesiser (probably not but they weren't using one). It's all indie rock and I think it rocks. For a taste try. Soulwax [...]

Hi All, I have created this blog so I can post this track because I could not find it any where else. I think every one needs to hear it to see how this Great UK Genius (Kissy Sellout) can remix this young Aussie Band (Operator Please). I saw Operator Please just recently at Splendour in the Grass (Bloc Party Was Amazing!!!) and was suprised at how tight and clear their sound was for such a young band. Seeing them again on Tuesday Night when they support Maximo Park at The Zoo in Brisbane!! Can not [...]
