I'm still on a Funk & Soul kick- have been for most of the summer, and this week I've come back with a follow up to week 132s mixtape. Bonus: a few classics that I can't seem to live without lately. ATL: Mayer Hawthorne will be playing the Masquerade October 22nd- who's going with me? Tracklisting: Aretha Franklin - Chain of Fools Ben l'Oncle - Lise [...]

Welcome once again to Friday, and my ecclectic mixtape of musical selections culled from around the interwebs. Thanks to the holiday, it's been a short week, and a somewhat pleasant one here in the Southeast. Owing perhaps to those details, this week's mix has grown from previous weeks of just 8-9 to 14 tracks. I just kept adding songs. It's no less random though, sovering almost every genre I listen to, except maybe bluegrass and christian death metal (okay, so I dont' really listen to that ). Download, enjoy, and come back next Friday when I'll have another mixtape [...]
Apparently, Jesus has a cape and grillz, and can play electric piano whilst flying...
Congrats to the Weepies for making the iTunes Top 5 albums on their release week!

Happy holiday weekend everyone! I hopw the weather holds out for just one last poolside weekend, listening to choons. Speaking of, I'm totally hooked on Lauren Pritchard's Painkillers . Give it, and the others on this week's Friday Mixtape a listen, and let me know who you think! Have a fun (and safe) holiday! Gawker.com is reporting that Paste Magazine has folded, and will be no more. Not a huge surprise, given their struggles over the past couple of years to stay afloat. Gawker sites an inside source and several tweets from Paste employees stating they are unexpectedly out of work. Paste is a Decatur, Georgia-based music and entertainment magazine started in 2002

I can't remember if this has happened in the history of the Friday Mixtape, but today is my birthday. So, excuse me if it's a bit short, quickly cobbled together from my dinign room table while I eat breakfast. I'm gonna go enjoy a day off from work, some sunshine with the top down, and pretend I'm not as old as I really am now. Enjoy. Tracklisting: Bad Books - You Wouldn't Have To Ask Brideshead - [...]

Friday again. In some ways, I thought it would never get here, in others, it feels like SFFM433 was just yesterday. Time is funny like that. So here's the mix. Sorry 'bout that bad word in the tracklist, but the song's great. The super-simple video helps drive it home too. Enjoy. Tracklisting: Aloe Blacc - I Need a Dollar Betsy Franck & The BareKnuckle Band - [...]
Really diggin' this song right now. File next to Gavin Degraw and Josh Kelley

It's been one of those weeks, trapped in my own private hell, and no time to really listen to much music. So, I've taken the lazy route, and just thrown some easy stuff together. Sorry 'bout the lamo mix this week, but I just didn't have time. I promise, I'll come up with some good stuff next week. Tracklisting: Andre 3000 - I Do Bombay Bicycle Club - Always Like This [...]

Pffft. Tracklisting: By Land Or Sea - I Saw You On A Map Of Egypt Eli Paperboy Reed - Come And Get It Frankie and His Fingers - The Coach's Daughter Rai Knight - New New The Farewell Circuit - [...]
That's some big-budget video making at it's best there
Not much for the song, but the super slo-motion flame thrower verses fire extinguisher is just flippin' awesome! via adland.tv "The next tricky thing was getting the exposure right where Adam Frisch, the DP, did a great job. Since we shot at high frame rates we needed a lot of light, but I wanted to shoot it at night, which made it difficult. And on top of that, the main element in frame was a huge fireball that was really bright."
