Maia Hirasawa - And I Found This Boy mp3

This week, I've gone back to a few artists from last week's mixtape because they were great (The Dimes, Minipop, Maia Hirasawa), then trown in a couple radio-play wonders (Jack Johnson, The Wombats), and sprinkled with several newbies. I've been having trouble this week with a couple of plugins I wrote for WordPress- so if you happen to notice somethings not working properly let me know, would ya? Otherwise, I'm just drawing a blank for things to say. Download the mixtape, listen, enjoy, comment, and I'll be back after the weekend. Tracklisting: [...]
Bonus MP3: The Pipettes - White Christmas
On tour in Zagreb, Croatia, a report and his camera operator may have caught 50 Cent doing some drugs backstage before the show. As the camera is lead through the back stage areas in order to interview 50, it turns several corners to find the rapper and a couple of others hovering over a table in a suspicious manor. You decide:

Three long nights of hauling boxes and chairs and clothes and, well, you know- all my shit from Sandy Springs to Buckhead- Most nights going until after 2 am. But I'm done, and SF HQ is now in the heart of BH in ATL. Enough abbreviations for ya? Now, if I could just remember which box I put my iPod... In the midst of going bat-crazy trying to move this week, I was listening to some great new stuff off the 'net. Some of these, I've put into a little collection you can download (all together in the [...]
Really? Don't Shoot Me, Santa Claus? The Killers are off their rocker.

If you go, please email me, and tell me how it was- because, even though I RSVP'd for the show, I don't think I can sacrifice the time tonight. Dayton, Ohio band Hawthorne Heights announced on their website this weekend that their guitarist, Casey Calvert, had passed away during the night Friday night. The band's message to their fans reads: Today is probably the worst day ever. Its with our deepest regrets that we have to write this. Casey Calvert passed away in his sleep last night. We found out this afternoon before sound-check. We've spent the entire day trying to come to grips with this and figure out as much as possible. At this time we're not sure what exactly happened. Just [...]

Catching up on last week's news: Neil Diamond confesses to writing his eponymous hit Sweet Caroline about the daughter of President John F. Kennedy, Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg . "It was a picture of a little girl dressed to the nines in her riding gear, next to her pony," Diamond recalled. "It was such an innocent, wonderful picture, I immediately felt there was a song in there." Diamond revealed the inspiration while taking a break from recording his new album with mega-producer [...]

I hope everybody that celebrates Thanksgiving had a great one! Now, here come the excuses: It was a short week... I was preoccupied with the great SF HQ relocation effort... and I'm cat-sitting. I've been a bad blogger this week. Holiday weeks are always tough to find time to scour the net for music, and this is one of those where the whole US seems to shut down. I hope to be all relocated to sunny Buckhead by the next time I post a mixtape, and also to have time during the move to pull another mix together. Anyway, I [...]

I have to move. My lease expires on the 30th, and the new management company at my complex, Worthing Company, really blows. So, I'm apartment hunting this weekend. Atlanta's a big city, with lots of empty apartments- but I hate commuting, and therefore want to find a place that offers an easy route to the office (in the burbs), yet is still near all the 'action'. As I've only got 2 weeks left to find a place, pack, move and clean out the old one, I'm starting to stress. I hate moving. I've got an extra-long mixtape for [...]
As U2 prep for a re-release of their classic The Joshua Tree , they've released a video of Bono commentating and singing along to an unreleased track, Wave of Sorrow on Facebook/iLike .
Just because I was surfing MP3 4U , and liked these tracks: Go Jimmy Go - The Governors Daughter The Blakes - Two Times Whole Wheat Bread - Old Man Samson Buck-O-Nine - Less Than Comfortable Two Gallants - Las Cruces Jail (radio edit)

Chief Executive Officer of Warner Music Group Edgar Bronfman admitted Wednesday that "we were wrong" . Finally. How were we wrong? By standing still or moving at a glacial pace, we inadvertently went to war with consumers by denying them what they wanted and could otherwise find and as a result of course, consumers won. Of course, he was talking about mobile music content. Eh, it's still good to hear it. Read the whole scoop on MacUser . Social Distortion [...]
I don't get the vid, but I still love this song. Stars official website ...and myspace .

My sympathy goes out to Kanye and the family of Dr. West, after her death this Saturday in Los Angeles. In his music and career, it was obvious how much she meant to the hip-hop superstar. Rap star Kanye West's mother, Donda West, had a tummy tuck and breast reduction performed by cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jan Adams before her death, according to the Web site TMZ.com. ABC news reports on the surgery that may have lead to complications resulting in her death.

So, I kinda ran short on time this week, and don't really even know what I've put in here. I just went through my "new" folder, and picked out stuff that had nifty titles, or that I had any inkling that I had liked while listening throughout the week. Then, I tossed in some new stuff downloaded off the RSS feed. I know: lazy. DOwnload it anyway- I know you want to. I'll be back with more later. This week's flickr-photo cover art is another last minute thing- I was going to use an image I've been working [...]
Laughable, but yet strangely catchy version of Rhianna's Umbrella from Sweden. This only continues the string of often-unexpected cover versions of the pop track.
