Will Ozanne (aka Gang Colours) is fantastic Southampton-based producer who released his debut full-length album, The Keychain Collection , this past February through Brownswood Recordings. Ozanne creates soundscapes filled staggered downtempo beats, hazy piano drops, and buried rnb undertones. The album's first single, Fancy Restaurant , highlights that mixture of gentle piano, unique sounds and textures, and Will's haunting vocals. The album's second single, To Repel Ghosts, will be released on May 28th.

Noel Sloboda " So Below " (Sunnyoutside, March 6th) The new mini-chapbook from Noel Sloboda is one of the most well put together collections I've seen. Of course it came from David McNamara and Sunnyoutside, but this collection reaches even further then their previous releases. What pushes this five-poem collection further is the beautiful two-color silkscreen by Alicia Paolucci at the center of the chapbook. It brings another element and really brings these poems to life. Sloboda's poems take place in his yard as he prepares himself and his yard for Spring. However, [...]

Tom Mahony " Dead Glass " Illustrated by Jennifer Noel Bower (Folded Word, March 30th) Perhaps it is because I have lived in the Midwest my entire life or that I recently spent a week on the beaches of Southern California, but there is something magical and enchanting about the ocean. The waves, the sounds, the life contain within, it has always fascinated and frightened me and many, many others. Walking out into the water for the first time is breathtaking on multiple levels. It is the thrill of not knowing exactly how big the [...]

Matt Bell " Cataclysm Baby " Mud Luscious Press (April 15, 2012) "Each day that passes, we breathe deeper of the processed air, let its engineered taste force us into health, into some state like happiness." The journey of fatherhood is more complex than many movies and novels tend to make it seem. It's not often that a story is told from the Father's perspective. You usually get the teenage daughter pushing back, struggling to spread her newly formed wings, or the mother burden by the family, the house, the life un-lived. In [...]
