Shigeto – “Detroit Part 1″

Ghostly International producer Shigeto has announced the release of a new album, and you can stream a track from it via the widget above. The LP's title is No Better Time Than Now , and "Detroit Part 13 has me pretty psyched to hear the rest of this thing. The track is a thumb piano-led number with some pretty spacey beats and forlorn electric piano keys. There's plenty of progression along the track's duration, too. Enjoy!

Power Trip – Manifest Decimation

Stream: Power Trip - Manifest Decimation It's all-out thrash warfare on this new Power Trip album, Manifest Decimation . The LP is out now, and it's the band's first album. It certainly feels like it, too; every track on here is relentless and punk-infused. It really sounds like the band has something to prove! Hit the link above for a full stream of the album, and enjoy!

Boards of Canada – Tomorrow’s Harvest

Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest ALBUM REVIEW
After about eight years of silence, Boards of Canada return with Tomorrow's Harvest, which might be their saddest and most desolate record to date; directly emulating much of the progressive synth and soundtrack music that has always informed the duo's style. WATCH THE REVIEW

Smith Westerns – “Idol”

Really enjoying this sweet, melodic, and jangly tracks from the new Smith Westerns album, Soft Will . It's the pop rock trio's third full-length record, and will be dropping on the 25th via Mom + Pop Records. Enjoy!

Sigur Ros – “Kveikur”

Sigur Rós - Kveikur
Sigur Ros is really showing how diverse of a group they can be as the band takes a dark, moody approach to their newest songs. "Kveikur" features some huge, distorted riffs that art matched with Jón Þór Birgisson's vocals being twisted for a poltergeist-like effect. It says a lot when you have no idea what a band is really saying lyrically, but still has an immense impact with the vocals and music. They have always been able to do that and "Kveikur" is no different with it's heavy bass and drums brooding throughout. It feels like [...]

World’s End Press – “To Send Our Love”

World's End Press - To Send Our Love
Australia's World's End Press delivers a new song and video that seems to just fill the room with pulsating, synthetic sounds. Part of that feeling certainly has to do with the rigid synthesizers and ethereal vocal harmonies-especially on the hook. Follow the band on SoundCloud here , and enjoy!

Caged Animals – “Cindy + Me”

Caged Animals - Cindy + Me (Official Video)
Caged Animals are bringing out a quirky and infectious pop sound with "Cindy + Me," and it's hitting all the right notes. The synth and bass grooves definitely add a lot to the already infectious aspects of this song-like the constantly ascending and descending guitar leads. The quirky vocals and lyrics are hilariously accented by a pretty strange video filled with monkey scientists that are carrying out all kinds of sick, disturbing tests on this man who is clearly suffering from a broken heart. Enjoy!

Shigeto – Lost Tracks

LA beatsmith Shigeto's computer was stolen a year ago in NYC, along with "an album's worth of material." He was eventually able to recover these two songs: "What U Really Wanted" and "R Life." They both feature MC Kadence and LO5, providing vocal accompaniment. Shigeto seems to have evolved his style, adding a pop edge that was previously absent. The first song makes melancholic soul music out of samples of key jingling and vocals with actual lyrics, while the second song combines organ noodling and impressive drum programming into the closest Shigeto has ever gotten to dance music. Now if only [...]

Deep Magic – “Brighter Days”

This track by Deep Magic, off of his upcoming release Reflections of Most Forgotten Love to be released on Preservation is the sort of babbling-brook ambient music that suggests perfect peace, a monk meditating amid a waterfall. It is not a static song though, musical phrases pass through and are changed over the 6:23 play time. In this way it is similar to the intricate, beat-less ambient music of Brian Eno, but where Eno is crystal clear, this song features a tape-hum, a reminder of its electronic source. Thanks to Tiny Mixtapes for the find!

Jarren Benton – My Grandma’s Basement

Jarren Benton is one of the most eccentric faces in the south right now, spewing rhymes that are equal parts gritty, gross, cartoony, and offensive. The dude obviously takes a lot of influence from Eminem, but is modern enough to fend off any negative comparisons. For sure, this dude's over-the-top persona is gonna make Benton's new full-length, My Grandma's Basement , one of hip hop biggest highlights this summer. The project is out now on iTunes, but is also streamable via the widget above. Enjoy!

Paul White – “Watch the Ants”

Paul White - Watch the Ants
Paul White is most known for producing for Danny Brown, and is producing multiple tracks off of Danny Brown's upcoming  Old . He is also readying his own release, the EP Watch The Ants , and has just released a video for the eponymous track off of the EP. The track takes much of the sonic material of early Boards of Canada: children sing-songs, 702s television-show synths, and breakbeats, but makes something much different out of them. Where Boards of Canada create serene music for the point between sleep and waking, "Watch the Ants" is urgent, frantic and swampy. [...]

Schoolboy Q – “Collard Greens” ft. Kendrick Lamar

In anticipation of his imminent Oxymoron LP, ScHoolboy Q releases this single with his Black Hippy brother Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick raps in Spanish, Q raps about drugs and ladies, but the real star of this song is the beat, which was produced by TDE in-house producer THC. The drum track sounds like it was lifted from an indie-rock band from the late aughts, all rim hits and tribal propulsion, but the synths are pillowy and serene. This song looks like it could soundtrack many upcoming summer nights. Enjoy! Check a review for Schoolboy Q's last LP below:

Slava – “Girl Like Me”

Slava - "Girl Like Me" (Official Music Video)
Moscow-by-way-of-Brooklyn producer Slava lets go of this video for the track "Girl Like Me" off of his recent LP  Raw Solutions , which was released by Software. The track itself is built from a refrain "no you never had a girl quite like me" repeated ala DJ Rashad, while the drums eschew usual juke structure for a more intricate pattern that includes tuned woodblocks. The video itself portrays one of the greatest taboos in Western Culture, and really should be watched without spoilers. Just know that the track's juxtaposition of cold synths and a romantic vocal sample is portrayed well [...]

King Khan & the Shrines – “Born To Die”

Eclectic Berlin-based garage rock outfit King Khan & the Shrines is making their return with the track “Born To Die”. The band has always had a great, raw sound that's pretty comparable to The Black Lips and other contemporary underground rock acts. However, they usually mix it with own uniquely psychedelic and funky stylings. Having the added strings and horn section toward the end of the track really gives this song a warm feel, and some unprecedented texture. Looking for a summer anthem? Look no further. This track comes from the band's next full-length [...]

J. Cole – Born Sinner

Stream: J. Cole - Born Sinner J. Cole is looking to take new notes from fellow rapper and friend Kendrick Lamar in creating a darker moodier album. The only real question is, does it actually achieve what it sets out to do? In terms of production it most certainly feels that way. A lot of the beats here are stunningly original, and are brooding with heavy drums. Easily some of the most impressive instrumentals I've heard this year. Even though Cole could do more with his lyrics, he can [...]

Laura Marling – Once I Was An Eagle

Laura Marling - Once I Was An Eagle ALBUM REVIEW
Laura Marlin's Once I Was An Eagle shows the British singer-songwriter moving even further away from her folk pop roots, and embracing a moodier sound. Not only that, but Laura's battles with love seem to take center stage as this album's prime subject matter. WATCH THE REVIEW

Disclosure – Settle

Disclosure - Settle ALBUM REVIEW
On Settle, the fresh electronic music duo known as Disclosure brings a series of house and garage-inspired dance numbers that groove excitingly. Some of the vocal guests are pretty spectacular as well. Even if you're not nutty about dance music, give it a try. WATCH THE REVIEW

CX KiDTRONiK: KRAK ATTACK 2: THE BALLAD OF ELLI SKIFF ALBUM REVIEW
Experimental hip hop and electronic music producer CX KiDTRONiK's KRACK ATTACK 2 will probably be one of the noisiest and most high-octane experiences you'll have with music this year-even if it is a bit messy and inconsistent. WATCH THE REVIEW
