The Rapture Calls Upon Cassius To Produce New Album

The Rapture Calls Upon Cassius To Produce New Album Sun drenched French girls wont relate to frozen girls from northern states but they might elate when they hear that Zdar's producing The Rapture of New York State. Whoo! Alright, lets fall apart and...forget all about my shitty attempts at rhyme... So anyways, it looks like the new Rapture album is being produced by Cassius. Or at least half of; Philippe Zdar . Zdar told Pedestrian recently, "They came to me and said, 'we loved the Phoenix album and we want to do some new music...will you be able to [...]

Rove McManus Calls It Quits

Rove McManus Calls It Quits Sad news everyone. You know the guy who spouts that insufferable "Say hi to your Mum for me" outro? That really short guy who's kinda annoying and not really that funny? You know, the same guy who parlayed a semi-successful comedy career into a one man media empire. The guy who interviews Pink a lot. Yeah him! He's going to stop harassing your TV set every Sunday after a decade of lukewarm comedy, awkward laughs and stilted interviews. At this stage, we don't know whether this is a good thing... As a [...]

Gay Bash Schoolies Winner

Gay Bash Schoolies Winner As we told you last week, the generous crew from Gay Bash are offering the best dressed "Schoolie" from their recent Sydney party a return trip to the Gold Coast. *Drum roll please* Pedestrian can now reveal that the lucky recipient of a return trip to the Gold Coast is Amber Joy who (in Gay Bash's words) came in drag as a Toolie, complete with Rohypnol and an insatiable hunger for underage cooch. She has proved that the Gold Coast is where she belongs, so she's won the trip with us (she doesn't [...]

A Little Birdy Told Us...

A Little Birdy Told Us... We were contemplating calling this segment "Katy Steele told us" but A) It's not that funny and B) Katy Steele's lawyers would be all up in our grill. Instead we decided to go with the old "a little birdy told us" adage. So what is it? Well this is basically a spot for blind items, a section of the website for vague pieces of (kinda corroborated) gossip that we find amusing. As you know, we're all about increasing the distrust between Pedestrian and the patrons of whatever party we may be attending with our notepads, cameras [...]

Who Weekly announces the SEXIEST PEOPLE of 2009

Last night Sydney's Summit Restaurant set temperatures soaring as a room full of babes turned up for the unveiling of Who Weekly's Sexiest People list. The latest issue of Who Weekly features our very own home grown hotties Miranda Kerr, Megan Gale and Ruby Rose on the cover. The girls managed to pull off a sexy beach shoot, even though "freezing temperatures blew into Melbourne on the morning of the shot" and Rose was "battling a nasty cold". There were the expected beautiful faces on the list, such as the 'bloody sexy' Robert Pattinson, Angelina [...]

We spoke to one quarter of the collective, Rhett Wade-Ferrell, about his recent trip to America, stalking Jessica Biel, shooting a Christian Joy documentary and working with Neon Indian and Peaches. Also known as reasons this whole "world domination" thing might come to fruition. Hey Rhett, we hear you've been working on the new Neon Indian video - how did that come about? Solange Knowles To Work With Midnight Juggernauts?

When your sister has the greatest pop song of the decade nestled in her back catalogue and sleeps beside Jay-Z on a mattress stuffed with 100 dollar bills and propped up by Grammy's - you'll have way more than 99 problems when it comes to launching a similarly celebrated pop career. Solange Knowles, the younger sister of Beyonce is surely aware of this fact and that's why she's taken the indie route. We were alerted to Solange's indie leanings a few months back when the Midnight Juggernauts revealed that a collaboration with Solange [...]

Pedestrian's Russian Standard Vodka Editor-at-Large

Pedestrian's Russian Standard Vodka Editor-at-Large From Vladimir Nabokov's "Lolita" to model Natasha Poly (real name Natalia Polevshchikova), or perennial slashee and heiress Dasha Zhukova Pedestrian's penchant for all things Russian borders on unhealthy. So when Russian Standard Vodka , Russia's Number One Premium Vodka, made and distilled in Russia, suggested we station an editor-at-large in Russia for the rest of the year to give you a first-hand insight into Russia's creative culture – we agreed faster than t.A.T.u. shot up the pop charts. Helping us to explore modern Russia's cultural underbelly we've enlisted Ms. Anna Frost - [...]

Yacht Announce Supports For Australian Tour

Yacht Announce Supports For Australian Tour You know what's better than a Yacht live show? Well not much considering it's like tantric sex on some drug that hasn't even been invented yet while extraterrestrial beings stroke your ears with rabbit tails and hundred dollar bills. If that doesn't make sense, all I'm trying to say is it's really fucking good. If I was pressed however, the one thing that is better than a Yacht live show, is a Yacht live show featuring Architecture In Helsinki spinning mad eclectic beats (but probably mostly Hip Hop) with support from Sydney's Danimals and a super group comprised [...]

Hot Chip Debut New Track

Hot chip new single - Take it in
The endearingly geeky Englishmen from Hot Chip have offered fans a first listen to their forthcoming album One Life Stand by way of "Take It In" - a euphoric, sincere and altogether charming slice of white boy soul that's not unlike Barry White and Depeche Mode getting blazed and making out in slow motion. Which is to say it's fucking beautiful. As always the band's skill lies not in unwinding beats and crafting left field hooks but conveying the most earnest of emotions sans irony. Sample line? "My heart has flown to you just [...]

Tallulah Morton Vs. Pete Doherty

Tallulah Morton Vs. Pete Doherty We recently interviewed Australian artist in London Love Ariel and aside from discussing her new show "Satan, Sex & Salvation" the Aussie transplant shared some eye-opening images from her antipodean adventures. In the photos, Ariel is joined by model-muses Jethro Cave, Sophie Willing and Tallulah Morton as they hang out with former Libertines frontman Pete Doherty - in his house. Morton's underage party lifestyle was famously criticized ( again and again ) by influential Sydney blogger Patty Huntington aka Frockwriter but as Kate Moss proves [...]

Love Ariel Talks Model Muses, Pete Doherty's Blood and Satan, Sex & Salvation.

Love Ariel Talks Model Muses, Pete Doherty's Blood and Satan, Sex & Salvation. 24 year old Ariel Sexton-Shaw aka Love Ariel is an Australian born, London dwelling artist whose new show, Satan, Sex & Salvation takes inspiration from model muses (Sophie Willing, Tallulah Morton, Jethro Cave) and as the name might suggest sex and violence. We recently caught up with Ariel to discuss Satan, sex, Pete Doherty's blood and life in London. You're in London for your new show "Satan, Sex & Salvation" can you tell us a bit about the show? Yes it's a pretty dark theme focusing on the Goddess [...]

Tristan Blair Autumn Winter 2010

Inspired by the colourful landscapes of Africa and Victorian era austerity, Tristan Blair's ninth footwear collection combines a characteristic contrast between hard and soft with on-trend touches like over the knee boots, animal prints, dusty nudes and studding. So whether you're a fan of industrial man-killing studs or demure bows, we strong suggest pairing Blair's wares (am I a rapper?) with something from this . Instant fall ferocity. Grrrrr.
