Ok... I know we've been talking about this Jay Reatard thing alot.. but it serious was fucking awesome. Here's what the Philly Weekly had to say: How a band from Memphis managed to own Philly last Friday. by Brian McManus All HOHO needed to be reminded he loves Philly was a trip to Colorado. Ooph. He doesn't mean it like that. In spots it's a gorgeous place, of course. Mountains. Streams. Grass. All that. But damn if most of it hasn't been [...]

So, as some of you already know, we invited Jay Reatard to play in front of the SJ store on a whim. Mostly, we just wanted to see him play. But I guess we also kinda wanted to piss off our neighbors. With little to no set up and absolutely no permits or municipal participation of any kind, we weren't sure exactly what to expect. Would it be shut down before it started? They could get as hard as nails and then soften you up with beautifully intricate break downs that screamed emotion without eyeliner or the shortened use of the word. Aside from any asinine description I could give, what spoke to people most was the sheer honesty in the bands music and, more importantly, lyrics. Here is a recently posted documentary that gives more insight into the band than most had ever gotten [...]
So, first off, you look at this video and wonder, "Are these guys in an elevator?" Secondly, you say to yourself, "This is the worst video I have ever seen!" But then you get to about 2:02 on the video (the part where Ian usually shouts "What the fuck have you done?") and realize that this may be the funniest video you've ever seen.
