Jay came back to Philly with a new guitar and an arsenal of new songs. It was a great night, but pictures are worth thousands of words... This post has: 8 Images

Holy crap. I normally wouldn't be able to stand a word out of this guy's mouth, but add some of whatever is polluting Phil's system and he becomes magical. There are two parts to this interview, but the first one is all you really need. Shane MacGowan, move over!

This thing hits shelves next week. Tuesday the 28th the be exact. What will it sound like? The Mp3 and Video below are obviously hinting at the poppier side of things, but isn't that what singles are supposed to do. I heard "Wannabe In La" on the radio the other night while headed to practice and though to myself: "When's the last time a Top 40 track had fuzz guitar on it?" This song gets my vote for that reason alone. Eagles of Death Metal - Wannabe In LA [...]

What do you get when you mix up early Redd Kross with the Wipers and then have 3 of zombie chicks play the resulting song? Well, it must be Vivian Girls. This video is rad and makes the song a hell of a lot more interesting. Check it out This post has: 1 MP3

Eddy Current Suppression Ring hail from the far away shores of Melbourne, Australia. They've just released their second LP on Goner Records to critical and sub-critical acclaim. The Washington Post had this to say: "For the past few months I was pretty sure that Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' "Dig, Lazarus, Dig!" was going to be my favorite album of the year. Now I'm not even sure that it will be my favorite Australian album of the year. That's because the cumbersomely-named Eddy Current Suppression Ring have released "Primary Colours" [...]

This is the first show we're going to be doing inside the shop. Winter is creeping up and we don't want to stop having shows because of the cold. So rain or shine, this is going to be one hell of a time. Japanese Motors are the latest Vice Records band. They've got a record out on Die Slaughterhouse as well (That's the Black Lips' label for those living in the dark) and wanted to come by the shop and show us what they got. It's laid back, Costa Mesan (as in [...]

Film School are one of our favourite bands (you can read/hear more about them here and here ) and it was an absolute treat to have them play outside our shop in Philly. The weather was beautiful and the band ripped through a short but sweet set of songs off their newest LP 'Hideout' to crowd of fans and astonished passerbys (all of whom stopped). There's definitely something special about turning a corner and finding an amazing band playing in the street. Click here for photos and watch the [...]

MC5 peak for themselves and so does this video. Although it's rather tough to make a decision, I think this is my favourite MC5 track. Even the Damned covered it! This post has: 1 MP3

Reggae music pioneer Alton Ellis, known as the godfather of rocksteady, has died at the age of 70 in London, England. Officials at Hammersmith Hospital announced Sunday morning that Ellis, who had cancer, died peacefully Friday night after he had been hospitalized for several weeks. "His life was the music and the stage," said his manager Trish De Rosa. "He was getting a tremendous amount of work right up to the end ? it was very difficult to get him to slow down." Ellis collapsed during a club [...]

It's official. Thomas Function are fucking awesome. Don't believe us? Just a few seconds of the video below should be enough to prove it. And since no one really carries video around with them, there's a few mp3s below to drive the point even further home. The songs below are "Day In The Shade" (first) and "A Long Walk". Click here to read about the event and get pics. This post has: 2 MP3's 1 Video

Thomas Function stopped by the shop Saturday to hang out a play a set in front of the shop before heading up to Canada. After some pizza and beer, we set up all the equipment in, underneath and between this huge scaffold that is currently occupying the front of our building. This huge, hulking structure did absolutely nothing to deter the pure awesomeness that the Function were about to lay down. This time around we were able to get a GREAT recording of the band and a live version of "Snake In The Grass" is available below. [...]

Spot the Sailor Jerry T-Shirt in this video and win an all expenses paid trip to nowhere. Really though... We just think it's rad. This post has: 1 MP3

Just in time for tour, Pierced Arrows release the "Paranoia" single and boy is it fucking great! This is easily my favourite PA track yet. Check out the video below and DO NOT miss the band on tour. Click here for Mp3s and tour dates.

There's nothing quite like a rock concert. I remember how exciting it was to sit in a packed stadium, watching four or five young men with indistinguishable haircuts run toward the stage and grab their instruments. And then, then they'd start playing?and boy I'll tell you, that's when those haircuts would really start moving. Swaying to and fro at equal lengths above their shoulders, shimmering in the same tones of brown, black, or blonde. That, my friends, was true rock and roll. But it just couldn't last. The kind of musical rebellion those uniformly mop-topped or bowl-cut [...]

Yep. After blowing everyone's minds with their set at the Vegas party in August (click here to see a video), we invited Thomas Function to come play outside the shop during the Midtown Village Fall Festival (Clockcleaner played it last year). The band goes on at 4pm, so get down there a little earlier. It's going to be a rager! This post has: 1 MP3

As many of you know, NO AGE rocked the fuck out of our Vegas party in August. Click here to read all bout it and check out the pictures. The video below is a song off their recent 'Nouns' record called "Here Should Be My Home". It's a lesser known track in the grand scheme of things, but just as awesome as anything else they've envisioned. Dig it. This post has: 1 MP3 1 Video

It's not here yet, but it's coming. Oct 7th to be exact. There's a label approved track below to wet your appetite and both a video with Damian talking about the new LP/his Mangina and the shirtless cover photo in the NME to help you lose it. Stoked. This post has: 1 Image 1 MP3

Vinnie Stigma is one hilarious motherfucker. I wouldn't want to get in the way, but man would it be a blast to hang out in his shop all day and do nothing but listen to him go off. Below is the both one of the funniest videos I've seen of him AND a spoof on the whole election process. It's so great, that I might even write Stigma's name into the ballot. Below that is some classic Agnostic Front off the 'Victim In Pain' 12". Both the video and the songs have gotten today [...]

Not really... but kinda. Here's Lemmy pretending to play along ("guitar-syncing"?) along to a Kirsty MacColl track on top of the pops. Lemmy in a Mod suit and the ever-present cowboy boots. Words can not describe... This post has: 1 MP3

It's true... only after watching this video. It's Friday. And really, how can you go wrong with some English Beat inspired Jesus-Jams! Just watch it.
