photo by Hobo Gestapo what i will be looking at this week^^ what i would like to be looking at this week you know what the best sort of week is?? the sort of week where you dont have to work.. sorta like the one that im in the middle of right now.. bessstttt.. so yea no work.. no tiredness after said work.. no shitty food because im too tired to make said food.. (no dell..) all ive got is sleep-ins, wii, beach, a touch [...]

Photo by Mike Slack that is what i did on the weekend. do i get exponentially more boring the longer i have no money? by missing out on the many parties and funs that were had on the weekend i did get to catch up on h. potter movies though. so.. im feeling kind of cranky.. cranky enough to chuck up some angsty electro (or elektr0 rock?? Hadouken - Declaration of War (Hadouken vs Kissy Sell Out Remix) [...]

ok so here is the LOVE that was promised. bask. for me, growing up in canberra was a pretty boring experience. whenever we recieved word that someone good was playing it always a pretty big thing.. there were only 4 local djs that ever excited me- pred from lot, stunami , and vance musgrove and mikah freeman.. AKA the ASTON SHUFFLE . from humble beginnings the Aston Shuffle have now nearly taken over the world.. you might know them from their chuggtastic remix of Claude Von Stroke's 'The Whistler', or from [...]

© Alix Smith *cos i couldnt be assed writing proper sentences and paragraphs.* THING THAT HAVE ANNOYED ME RECENTLY: - my headphone cable getting wrapped around the armrest of my chair and then falling off my desk when i pull my chair out. - having a cold and waking up in the middle of the night gasping because my nose is blocked. - any form of goat. especially the mountain variety. actually thats not true i just hate the mountain goats. - dj 'mixtapes', [...]
van she are awesome. this is a fact . everyone (except jack) knows this. i wont waste time kissing their asses on this blog because that has already been done on every other blog on earth. instead, im gonna go against the grain and say that the songs that i had heard off 'V' before today have been rubbish. Cat and the Eye was an ever so slightly uber M.O.R./pop jam. that got used as the channel 9 jingle (not that thats a bad thing but hearing that song during most ad [...]

photo: Jack Walsh ive talked about this before but dont you reckon that crappy weather really makes you listen to different beats.. its been wack weather for about a week now and i have been listening to nonstop gangsta shit and strummy stuff. i remember last time it was like this (not that long ago) i started listening to proggy/dubby styled electro.. listening to different beats like this is probably a good thing before the thumping doof-doof onslaught that will no doubt take place over the long weekend. [...]
yeeeahhhh i love the videodrome.....! i also LOVE the mystery jets.. ever since i heard 'You Cant Fool Me Dennis' at the end of of Bang Gang mixtape i have been in love. Ive just checked out their new clip and you should too. f**king wicked mate. Mystery Jets - Two Doors Down such a good track- how good is the solid/tough drumbeat and synthie chorus?? as teengirlsquad out of [...]

busy-ness has occured for all wearing a blouse this weekend.. good busy-ness.. the kind where many drinks are consumed, many bumping tracks are dropped and many hours of sleep lost. mmmmm.. one thing i love but know my girlfriend must hate is me thinking out loud about the songs that i thought went well in one of my sets.. "hmmm i reckon "_______" went off!!! dont you???" blaaaaaaaa. must be annoying. Wolfgang Gartner - Killer Sono - A New Cage (Digitalism Mix) [...]

photo: Jack Walsh all seems to be quiet up in the western front.. very quiet.. a little too quiet.. hmmm i went to pnau on friday which was pretty awesome- i missed van she which sucked big balls but i think i got over it.. we got into the enmore as breakbot was about halfway through his main set.. he was playing pretty stereotypical french tracks by sebastiAn and datA (apparently its quite the done thing to put capital letters in the middle of your name in France)- [...]

photo: Jack Walsh it is such a satisfying feeling for me when i find music that is perfect for walking.. walking long distances is always such a punish. and because it is an active activity, dancey beats that are good to walk to are often good to bust out in a dj set.. the other day, blouse got sent a bunch of tracks from Spanish producer Sidechains but because i was so busy i didnt get a proper chance to listen to it til i was walking home [...]
ok super rushed post for today.. for once im busy at work.. apologies- hopefully ill be able to snake a bit of time to make a better post sooooonnn. FIRSTLY- super excited about the new presets album- ive started to have smashed song recollections from various festivals as ive started to hear more and more songs off Apolcalypso- hilarious. its true that you can listen to the entire album on the presets myspace page but you should really truck on over to hyperbole site to catch some awesome preset mp3ness.. so impressed with [...]
ok.. everyone can get their relief on- my mind is now working properly again. PHEW. wow what a fun V fest it was.. i liked it cos it kind of seemed a bit chillaxed. i won't bore those of you that werent there with the details but will say that queens of the stone age, cut copy and the presets rocked out. as did duran duran. kudos to the presets as well- after being asked to finish up they fooled the stage manager by saying they would play one more and then actually played 3 songs one after the [...]
whilst im safely tucked away in my post V fest stupor please enjoy these awesome videos that ive stumbled over today.. not the only thing ive stumbled over.. sleeping in the park at lunch has never been sooooo good. This is another piece of nevereverland genius.. this time from the Presets- i seriously cant get over the crowd reaction in the two modular nevereverland videos that ive come across. people were clearly having fun. f-u-n. the presets played an amazing set at daft punk, and when they played 'my people' i reckon sydney probably [...]

in my mind i had planned to do an ultra mega v fest post tomorrow but instead im gonna be rad and do one now.. i think i might be a little too excited to wait a WHOLE day to post up v related tracks.. it certainly will be a fun day- but whats with the wack peeps up in v headquarters putting the headlining acts on at the same time at the end? huh? lame. anyway i think we'll find a way to get around this and have a fun time. just like this [...]

photo: Jack Walsh yeesss.... out power is such a relevant couple of words at the moment.. me, rach and the blouse and rubicon krews had A LOT of out power on sat night.. and ended up with bruises on our knees as a result. (actually i cant claim any bruises- they all ended up on rach's knees hahahaha).. awesome night though- the rubicon boys put a madd show on son. im also stoked to say that the power to my computer is temporarily out power [...]

photo: Jack Walsh i have had very little to keep me entertained in the super boring last week and a half at my work. i really was proud of myself for having finally gotten over facebook after many addicted months but.. no. give me a few days of nothing to do and i turn into some sort of walking facebook relapse. so it makes sense then that just as im about to get busy again a whole heap of awesome music just drops into the front of the blouse; AKA our [...]

One of the Rubicon DJs informed me last week that Siriusmo was his new favourite artist in the entire world. 'True story' he said. Who the fuck is Siriusmo? 'Some German dude who I reckon can play any style of music in the world - give him anything and he'll do it' he said. We then debated whether we prefer to use the harbour bridge or the harbour tunnel. I said tunnel because it's quicker. He disagreed and said bridge because it was more scenic and more opportunity to exceed the speed limit. In the case of either collapsing though, [...]

photo: Jack Walsh work for me in recent days has proved to be really quiet and boring.. usually i would use time like this to download heaps of new music, but for some reason i seem to be listening to my old music instead. and checking out the photos of hipsters on lastnightsparty . anyway in my review of my old beats the best thing (electronix-wise) that ive uncovered are the old bang gang podcasts. i used to get these religiously and they are perfect for my fragile [...]
self serve .... something that us here at blouse cant do at the moment.. weve had to remove my last fews mp3 posts as well so now there are no tracks available on here.. please excuse our ongoing problems.. they shall be fixed ASAP.. in the meantime here are some things to keep you trucking along this friday... here is a clip that i recieved from modular via the toones of cut copy playing "Heatrs on Fire" at daft punk in Sydney... seriously sent shivers. how awesome is the part where the [...]
