ok so its my bad for not really posting all that much new stuff - i just have so much to catch up on. the good news is that today is friday. to end the week on a good note, i thought i would share these bangers by siriusmo.. definitely worthy friday songs: Siriusmo - Die Rockwurst Siriusmo - Einmal In Der Woche Schreien happy friday!
this is it! the final installment of russ chimes ' midnight club videos.. what a perfect way to wind up the week. enjoy! Russ Chimes - Midnight Club EP (Part 3: Targa) im going to go out on a limb here and say that parts two and three didn't quite live up to the narrative, cinematic or even musical quality of part one.. i especially think that i expected a little more from part three - some kind of reality to the violence, maybe a [...]
this is it! the final installment of russ chimes ' midnight club videos.. what a perfect way to wind up the week. enjoy! Russ Chimes - Midnight Club EP (Part 3: Targa) im not 100% sure that parts two or three quite lived up to the narrative, cinematic or even musical quality of part one, but the series has been enjoyable nonetheless.

wow! happy mondays! just thought i would drop a quick line to let everyone know that the blouse email address has changed to blouseclub{at}gmail{dot}com.. we became a little irresponsible with our previous addy and weren't monitoring it nearly as much as we should have been. this new email address is like a fresh start - please send us music and other misc goodies! to celebrate, here are two tight, monday brightening disco jams: you can always trust the prolific toby tobias to be the creator of swanky, strutty glam disco like this. [...]
'tetre rouge' (aka the second part of russ chimes ' midnight club video series) has just dropped.. excited much? Russ Chimes - Midnight Club EP (Part 2: Tetre Rouge) man this series is just so engrossing. i might get in trouble for watching it at work, but i dont really mind. part 3 drops next week!

so its spring now. can you believe that it is going to be 20 degrees here on the weekend? (cant believe im getting excited over a 20 degree day.) i cant wait for the day when ill be chilling at the beach on phillip island. shouldnt be too long right? while i wait for some sun, it is my good fortune that there is plenty of excellent music to keep me occupied. sydney label future classic is incessantly impressive. in many ways, they are really are the tastemakers of sydney. or at least [...]
im sure that i wouldnt be alone in thinking that russ chimes is one of the most impressive producers out there at the moment. he has always been one of my favourites, but his latest bunch of releases have seen a continuous stepping up of his game. the blog house days are clearly far behind him - he has gained a more refined, intelligent outlook on composition and the slickness in his production has developed astonishingly. this video - which is part one of a series of three short clips which he is releasing in the [...]

my tech house fridays seem to have certainly taken a blow since moving down to melbs. sitting in an office with a girl who loves her chilled hip hop and indie does nothing for my friday afternoon bang off. i desperately need a big dirty techno night out in melbourne town. can someone point me in the right direction? these are some excellent - if slightly more chilled - tech numbers that i have been playing in my headphones today. michael mayer is an absolute master. going to see him at berghain/panorama bar [...]
The Egyptian Lover - Freak-a-Holic 39 video posts! where has the time gone? this one is an extra special one because it features the mind bogglingly awesome egyptian lover . a living legend and iconic member of the electro/hip hop era of the mid 80's, e.l. has survived a 15 year hiatus to once again embark on a much anticipated world tour. footage of his dj sets have trickled onto youtube and look promising/fun indeed. australia is being treated to a bunch of appearances in the next few months, so [...]

Oh El Guincho you are a good Mexican man. This is all steel drums and clanging guitars and soaring Spanish vocals. Why does it have to be winter? I hope I still like El Guincho by the summertime when I have a coconutty in my hand. He's such a fucking dude as well. El Guincho - Bombay And this from Firenze . I saw her last weekend at Splendour in the Grass and she was the only act that disappointed me. There was something not right with her, perhaps [...]

these weeks can really continue going by as fast as they are. its no problem. the sooner we are out of this shitty winter, the better as far as im concerned. diskjokke has just released a new album and it is an absolutely stellar collection of breezy scandinavian summer disco.. but while it may be a great summer and friday soundtrack, it is one song on this album that i really wanted to share today, and that is 'big flash'. i heard it a couple of days ago and it absolutely made my day. it [...]

god bless splendour 2010 . while i didnt get to go, i did benefit from the stellar lineup in many other ways. while it is definitely true that i did get to see a few amazing sideshows, it was the other peripheral music that i was exposed to which i really appreciated. while i was checking out some yeasayer remixes in the leadup to their show, i came across this mix that canadian artist teen daze made of "o.n.e.".. it instantly caught my full attention with its simplistic yet powerful melodies, catchy vocal [...]
the video for 'ritalin' by dancing pigeons is awesome for so many reasons. not only is it beautifully crafted and executed, but it involves guys with flamethrowers and icethrowers(?) going head to head. my masculine awesometer is in the red. Dancing Pigeons - Ritalin it seems like there are having nothing but problems here at blouse hq. my fileden account's monthly download quota seems to have peaked a lot earlier than i planned. it seem like i might have to upgrade the account, but i will do that next month. [...]

i dont know how im going to survive work in melbourne. it is actually like a mad house down here. ah well.. it is friday and ive got 4 days in sydney to look forward to. one of the things im looking forward to the most is of course the hot chip and lcd soundsystem gig on monday night. im sure you dont need me to say how good it will be, so ill just say that it is going to be awesome. if you need any further encouragement, look no further than hot chip [...]

so here i finally am. settled in melbourne. new city, new house, shiny new server space. and new internet connection at home (perhaps the most vital part of any blogging endeavour). as i said before, writing for blouse sydney in melbourne will be a little strange, but im kind of freaked out at the prospect of changing our url. does anyone have any experience in doing this? is there any way to do it without getting us lost? they say that moving house is one of the most stressful things a person can do, and i would definitely [...]

This track is from Panda Bear's new 7", taken from his forthcoming album Tomboy . The physical album will be released in September, but the leak will probably appear around late August. Or late July. Or next week. Panda Bear - Tomboy (mediafire link)

Sweden seems to breed lots of funky people like Ace of Bass and Freddy Ljunberg. And jj . This is first-thing-in-the-morning music, walking-to-work music, stiff-drink-in-the-evening music. All of that stuff. Love love love it. jj - things will never be the same again jj - ecstasy jj - ceo birthday Also, how painful is this description of their music from allmusic : Neo-Balearic indie pop filters Air France's tropical haze, the Tough Alliance's penchant for slyly irreverent [...]

it's been great.. i'm sure well see plenty of each other sometime soon. until then, i'll definitely be missing you. Talking Heads - This Must Be The Place (Native Melody) it going to be a little strange writing for blousesydney in melbourne, but i'm sure we'll work something out.
apparently dropbox wasnt the solution for us.. apologies for all of our links and design and everything dropping out every couple of days. i have signed up to fileden.. hopefully that will work better. ill update all of the links from the past couple of weeks tonight
