Paul Weller performed Jam favorite Start at the V Festival this past weekend. We love that Weller keeps Jam songs in rotation during all of his live sets. Weller's 10th solo album, Wake Up The Nation , is out now. We admit we've not heard it yet, so we think a proper listen is in order. The album has been nominated for the 2010 Mercury Prize as [...]
Tom and Russ had a little chat this past weekend with Absolute Radio at this year's V Festival . The guys chat past V Fest appearances, working with Flood on the latest record, and Metallica . Check it out -

The Thermals rock in a tiny shed (see above) in their new video for I Don't Believe You . The track is taken from their upcoming 5th album.
The Thermals rock out in a tiny little shed in their new video for I Don't Believe You . We are getting closer and closer to the release of their fifth album. The trio will hit the road this fall. No dates have been set (yet) in our hood here in California. I Don't Believe You stars Sleater-Kinney's Carrie Brownstein .

Finally scored a near mint copy of Southpaw Grammar on vinyl complete with limited edition booklet. Southpaw has always been one of our favorite Moz records. This makes for a great night of record shopping.

This is pretty cool actually. The track Milakia , which was originally written during Depeche Mode's Ultra era, has surfaced on the new Bomb The Bass album. Martin Gore contributed the track, which he wrote. He also plays synthesizers on this version. Tim Simeon , who produced Ultra and is also Bomb The Bass , had this to say about the track - [...]

We're getting really excited over this one. Yazoo , or Yaz for those of us in the U.S., will release a 2-CD/download live album on September 27th in the UK/September 28th in the U.S. The material is taken from the duo's infamous 2008 Reconnected Tour which reunited Alison and Vince for the first time in 25 years, surely something fans never thought they'd see. The release will also be available as a 2-CD deluxe [...]

Taking it all the way back to 1983 this week for Berlin's The Metro . You know how some songs just sound sexy? The Metro is an extremely sexy sounding song, even decades later. We've uncovered the original U.S. 45 cover, above. Classic.

We are likin' all this Morrissey news lately. First the reissue of Bona Drag (our favorite body of work from the man), and now a special re-release of one of Mozzer's most well known singles, Everyday Is Like Sunday . Above, we revisit the original photograph and cover art for the initial release back in 1988. One of our favorite Morrissey solo covers. The upcoming re-issue will be reworked with a rare Morrissey photo on the cover, and a [...]

Goldfrapp's video for Believer gives fans a rare backstage glimpse to their most recent Head First tour. It's fun to see Alison's silly side come across in the footage. We've always felt Believer was one of the stronger tracks on the album, so it's nice to see it get a proper release. This kinda makes us bummed out that we missed Goldfrapp at the Hollywood bowl a few weeks back.

Love this shot. See more of Renaud's work here. He also maintains an amazing blog (in French) which showcases many of his recent works. This is one of our daily stops, check it out .
The b-side to the Crossfire 10" vinyl single, which boasts some great packaging, can be heard below. Someone out there was awesome enough to post a video of the record spinning on their turntable for your audio pleasure -

Earlier this year, Stornoway paid a visit to the Oxford Botanical Gardens for an off-the-cuff performance of their track I Saw You Blink . Finally going to be able to pick up their excellent debut Beachcomber's Windowsill on vinyl tomorrow - official physical product release date here in the U.S. Pay a visit to the gardens with the guys below -

Elijah Wood hits Amoeba Hollywood for a little vinyl shopping. The self-confessed record nerd (just like us) has some pretty eclectic taste. Join him on his record buying journey in the video below. As a side note, Wood will also DJ in the store this Sunday from 2-4pm - random, but cool. Never thought of him as a DJ - wonder what the play list will look like? This all makes sense actually as Wood also has his own record label (which most folks [...]

Moz shirts for sale now on Etsy . Lookin' good. Check them out here .

Back on this day in 1990, Depeche Mode brought their World Violation tour to Dodger's Stadium here in Los Angeles. Pretty pissed we never caught the band on this tour as it was in support of their insanely giant album Violator . To celebrate, the band's official site is featuring video clips for all tracks performed. Everything is raw and unmixed, and apparently taken from a video tape that was found in the band's office back in 2002. If you're a fan, then I don't have [...]

In an extension of our Icelandic love yesterday (see Sugarcubes post ), we are featuring the new video from Sigur Rós front man Jónsi . Animal Arithmetic is taken from his solo album, Go . A beautifully shot piece of film. We love the way the drums are photographed here. When are we booking our flights to Iceland?

Motorcrash if one of our all time favorite Sugarcubes tracks. It also boasts our favorite Sugarcubes video. Bjork's looking her hottest here and she's topping the cute meter. She looks pretty rad in that racing (?) jacket. The video is quite random and features a bizarre moment where Bjork lifts a woman off the street (complete with leopard coat) and stuffs her into the back seat [...]

Cover art for a-ha's new single Butterly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) above. The single is due September 20th in the UK only. Listen to the track in our post here .
Speaking of Stornoway below, the guys just released a new video for the track Watching Birds . Really looking forward to this vinyl on our turntable come August 10th. Wonder if we will get an LA show?
