Australia's The Temper Trap are making it onto our heavy rotation around here. The band's debut is due in early 2009 and was produced by Jim Abbiss who has worked with Placebo , Goldfrapp, Bjork , The Arctic Monkeys and more. Electronic rockers Pendulum make their way to Los Angles next week for a show at The Mayan downtown. So many great bands used to play The Mayan. More Black Rebel Motorcycle Club news. The band just confirmed that they will play a special 45 minute acoustic set this weekend at the Clean Air Clean Stars festival in Joshua Tree. The band play Saturday night at 9:00pm. A special guest for the Sunday evening of the festival is expected to be announced soon. Full line up of bands and set times can be found here .

Fans got quite the treat as they excited the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club show Friday night in Santiago, Chile. Robert Levon Been ran out into the street and jumped atop a parked car to perform an acoustic version of the band's Sympathetic Noose . This is one of the coolest things ever! Via a live press conference today in Berlin, Germany Depeche Mode announced their upcoming tour and confirmed that they are working on a new album. The album, which is untitled at the time, contains songs written by both Martin Gore and Dave Gahan . All three members have currently been recording tracks in New York. A release date of April 2009 is planned for what will be the guys 12th studio album. Gahan confirmed that Anton Corbjin is on board once again to handle [...]

The Killers performed Human and Spaceman last night on Saturday Night Live . Thankfully Brandon Flowers has gotten rid of the crazy little mustache look and traded it in for a new signature coat. Human is really growing on us and live it sounded even better. Spaceman

Noah And The Whale make their Los Angeles debut this weekend at the Detour Festival tomorrow. The guys will take the Hall Of Justice Stage at 1:30pm. If you are heading out to Detour put them on your "must see" list. Noah And The Whale will also play a free show Monday night at Spaceland. Two chances to catch them locally. Cut Copy stopped by Last Call With Carson Daly (how is that still on?) last night to perform Lights and Musi c . Cut Copy play a sold out show tonight at the Glass House with label mates The Presets , they also play tomorrow at the Detour Festival here in Los Angeles and then head up to San Francisco for another sold out show with The Presets at the Mezzanine Sunday night.

We are loving all the Morrissey and Smiths activity these days. The actual street date for the Southpaw Grammar reissue was just announced via Morrissey fan site True To You last night. BMG has set January 26th as the date. The final track listing was announced as well. All three unreleased tracks are now officially known. Interesting that the original song line-up has been completely changed around and it is nice to see the addition of b-side Nobody Loves Us [...]

Brandon Flowers and crew will play Saturday Night Live this weekend. We are pretty sure you can lay bets on the band playing their new single Human . The song went on sale this week at iTunes. Listen to the track in full on The Killers official site .

The Kaiser Chiefs performed Like It Too Much from their upcoming album Off With Their Head s last night on Later With Jools Holland . The performance will be broadcast this Friday night on BBC. Off With Their Heads is due October 28th. We sort of forgot about these guys but we are liking this song. Time to revisit.

The Letters To Cleo news is out and the band is reuniting for a very tiny reunion tour. The lucky citizens of Los Angeles, New York and Boston (duh) rejoice as we are the lucky ones.
