We are pretty late on this one, but FINALLY getting around to listening to the new a-ha track Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) . The track will make its official debut on the upcoming greatest hits collection titled 25 . 25 to mark the band's 25-year career as they officially call it quits and say goodbye to music - bummer. Cover art for 25 above. Listen to Butterfly, Butterfly (The Last Hurrah) below. View the [...]

We kinda just happened upon these guys randomly one day and the album is hooking us in more and more. Something about them reminds us of a modern day Kingston Trio - that's a compliment. Their debut, Beachcomber's Windowsill , is made up of 11 little gems. One of the more interesting albums to come across our speakers recently. The album is currently out in the UK. Currently out in the US on iTunes. CD and vinyl hit on August 10th. Spinner is featuring [...]

Depeche Mode's Martin Gore turns 49 today. A little throwback to his 80's glory days above.

In probably our favorite news item of the year (so far), a 20th anniversary edition of Morrissey's Bona Drag is in the works.p This kinda freaks us all over, in a good way.p Bona Drag has always stood as our favorite collection of Morrissey work to date.p Never a proper album, but more a collection of singles and their respective b-sides, Bona Drag signifies everything iconic about Moz - the cover, the accompanying photos, [...]

The cover art is here and we quite like it. Great photo, a contender for our photograph of the week? Diggin' the lamp and the dresser and the mood set by the gold tone. A little Vegas in the background, of course.

Fantastic clip of Editors playing this year's Glastonbury . This really makes us fall in love with music all over again. A beautifully shot performance. The color of the early evening sunlight hitting the band and the stage plays perfectly with Tom Smith's haunting vocals. He's intense on stage as well, something so many folks lack today. Honestly our favorite performance of the year (so far). The above photo is taken from BBC's Editors photo gallery from the performance. See more here . [...]

We are still blasting this damn Yeah Yeah Yeah song from New Politics , who knew we'd become so nostalgic for that 90's sound? The guys just released a new video for the track, as opposed to this older clip that's been playing over and over again across the web. David Boyd is up to more of his insane shenanigans - busting out his signature dance moves, standing on his head, jumping up walls, flipping upside down everywhere, and doing some wild double kick move [...]

Courtney , Zia , Pete and Brent will release The Capitol Years 1995 - 2007 , their best of from their best days.p The collection features one unreleased track titled This Is The Tide .p How great is the procession of Good Morning , Godless , Get Off and Bohemian Like You ?p Some of our favorite Dandy [...]
Love this - the BRAT mashup of Boston's More Than A Feeling and Blur's Beetlebum , who knew these worked so well together? Makes one killer song -
A little behind the scenes look at the making of the new video for Yeah Yeah Yeah . Self-titled album due July 13th. See more .

We saw The Bravery guys out at a party over the weekend and it reminded us how much we loved the band's last album, Stir The Blood . In fact, looking back, it stands as their strongest body of work. The album's lead off single, Slow Poison , boosted a great video that we are running as this week's random pick. We really need to pick up Stir The Blood on vinyl.
Peter Murphy will release his ninth studio album this fall, appropriately titled Ninth . Murphy released a statement regarding the album - "I have had my Ninth album ready to go for a while now," Peter explains. "I've been playing it live, alongside Bauhaus classics and my own hits, long before the official release and it's added more stardust to the long shelf life of songs I have under my belt." Lovin' this news on the day [...]
Last night's performance -

In the battle of cover art reveals today - Brandon Flowers may have the gun for Crossfire , but Kalxon's have the cat in the space suit. I mean come on, the cat takes it, right? Klaxons will release Surfing The Void , August 23rd. Listen to album track Flashover , below:

The art for Crossfire is out. Thoughts? We actually love it. Like the gun with the red diamond. If you haven't heard the track yet, listen below:
The first solo track from Brandon Flowers has hit the web. It's been popping up all over the place and being pulled down just as fast. Hurry and listen before the below link is obsolete. Track is called Crossfire from the upcoming album Flamingo . Sounding good so far.

Speaking of recent obsessions below, nothing beats our freakish love for Yeah Yeah Yeah by New Politics . You know how every once in a great while a song comes along that you just can't get the f**k out of your head? And you really don't want to? That's Yeah Yeah Yeah right now for us, and thousands of others. Come on, play it, listen, no way it won't be in your head. A rad song to drive fast too, drink lots of shots, [...]

Not the drink of course, but the insanely great musical outfit named after the famed beverage. We're completely obsessed with Lemonade lately. Specifically their track Lifted . That bizarre combo of steel drums and that little looping laughter, classic. The members originally hail from San Fransisco and have since transplanted to Boston. The once Bay-centric band's recent EP Pure Moods is full of excellent electronic-based tracks and one hell of an amazing cover, above. Check out the video for [...]
