New Blur track arriving via 7" for Record Store Day

New Blur track arriving via 7" for Record Store Day A new track from Blur is on the way for Record Store Day , April 17th. Details are scare at this point, but we do know that the track will arrive via an extremely limited 7" (only 1,000 copies pressed) and will only be available in the UK. That bums us out majorly being here in the U.S. BUT, at least there's new material around the corner. Looking forward to the track hitting the web. "We want independent record stores to continue. They're an important part of our musical [...]

Now playing: Ramin Djawadi's "Clash Of The Titans" score

Now playing: Ramin Djawadi's "Clash Of The Titans" score A bit off topic for us here as we don't usually discuss film scores, but every now and then one comes along that entices us musically. Everyone needs a little film score love in their musical collections. The latest to really catch our ear is Ramin Djawadi's score for the Clash Of The Titans remake. We took in a screening of the film two nights ago, and yes, we kinda loved it. We are huge fans of the original, so of course nothing can compare. Visually, they did a good job re-creating [...]

White Rose Movement call it a day

White Rose Movement call it a day Well damn it, White Rose Movement called it quits. Bummer. Fans have been waiting on a follow up to the band's debut Kick since its release back in 2006. A real shame since Kick was a pretty stellar album, and we'd been anxiously waiting to see what the Movement folks had up their sleeves next. Sure, a few new songs appeared via the band's MySpace here and there, but no actual cohesive body of work. We are seriously sad about this. [...]

Photograph of the week - Matt Johnson (The The) shot by Peter Ashworth

Photograph of the week - Matt Johnson (The The) shot by Peter Ashworth Great shot of Matt Johnson of The The fame taken by UK photographer Peter Ashworth . The funny thing is, Ashworth used to drum for The The (under the name Triash ) in 1980. His involvement was short lived as his focus remained on his photography craft. Not sure of the year or location on this one, but we're pretty confident it's earlier 80's To see more of Ashworth's work, including many of his iconic 80's shots of [...]
