First off I would like to apologize for the long absence....I was in the process of moving from Switzerland back to NY and time kind of got away from me. Now I am back in the city that never sleeps and surrounded by new and exciting music so hopefully it will be much easier to get back on that horse. Which I suppose is why I have chosen "White Horse" by Jessica 6 to start things off. A couple months ago I ended up on a plane with these guys going from Zurich to Berlin. Later that night, [...]
Although I was fairly disappointed with their full-length (a little too slow and repetitive) I am still totally in love with this song. I stumbled across this fan video and thought it was pretty well done. Retro, colorful and sunny....just like the song.

Seriously...I don't know what I was expecting from a group called Dale Earnhardt Jr. Jr. Pleasantly surprised? Indeed. Check out "Vocal Chords"
I don't even know what to say about this video except WOW. The song is exceptional and the video is, to say the least, visually stunning. Maybe too many boobies for me and I feel a tad bit dirty when watching it, but besides that I love the chaos and the aesthetic of the whole thing. What do you think?

Forget 7 minutes in heaven, you get a solid 9 with this chill remix of "VCR" from Four Tet .

Nearing the end of their East Coat run, Pac Div and The Underdogs Tour will finally make a stop in the Big Apple. This marks the first ever headlining performance from Pac Div at SOB's. Opening acts include STS, Von Pea and Beyond Belief ....for sure a show you won't want to miss. Grab the "Don't Mention It" mixtape here ...
Looks like The Dø is finally headed west again. They've already knocked out a couple shows in NY, will be hitting Canada this week and will end in LA on the 22nd at the Troubadour. The Do - At Last (kidam version) from THE DO on Vimeo .

Drum roll please......after years of waiting, Ms. Andreya Triana has finally released an album! Those of you that have been following this blog for some time know how much I dig her music, and it is awesome to see someone as talented as her finally getting the recognition she deserves! After being featured as the "Single of the Week" in the UK iTunes store, her debut release has finally made it stateside. It's a hauntingly beautiful album, one that features stellar production from Bonobo , and of course those deliciously sultry vocals of Ms. [...]
Good old-fashioned soul. Can't ask for anything more. Just in case you haven't already check out Andreya Triana 's "Lost Where I Belong" sampler...do so. Make sure you keep those eyes peeled for her much awaited debut release by the same title due out August 23rd. I've been waiting for years so you know I'm stoked.

New M.I.A...what ya think?

Whether or not you actually partake in the holiday is up to you......buuuuut Flying Lotus and the Brainfeeder crew have created a special little soundtrack for you to pass the day with. It's all in preparation for the release of Lotus' Cosmogramma . Listen here . It's dope.

This album has been on rotate as of late. Take one half of the Danish group Owusu & Hannibal and pair his productions with the the sultry vocals of lead singer Coco and what do you end up with? Smooth Scandinavian soul that everyone in the family can enjoy. Quadron is the real deal.

I've been in a bit of a folky/indie mood as of late...and this track from Cast Spells has been hitting the spot. Lead singer David Davidson ( Maps & Atlases ) strangely reminds me a bit of the awesome Damon Albarn (lead singer of Gorillaz , Blur and The Good, The Bad & The Queen ). Anyway, is worth a listen...

Spin Magazine is offering up a free album of the 10 artists to watch in 2010....grab it here . Feelin' it....of course we've got Vibes and Stuff to thank for this lovely guest mix from Singing Statues . Powered by Podbean.com

Love the new ad for Wrangler's Blue Bell Collection ...check it out, it's interactive, fun and of course there is Tony Ward . Oh, and did I mention that the music is awesome?? It's by a Swedish guy named Markus Hassleblom for the production company Kokokaka ...not much on the dude, but I hope to hear more.
Haven't heard anything from the 1-o.A.K. in a cool minute! Part of the famed Bay Area Honor Roll tribe (ya know... Trackademicks , Mike Baker the Bike Maker , DJ Tap 10 ), this remix one him the FILTER remix contest for Little Dragon's "Blinking Pigs". Funky, smooth, and soulful, the perfect companion for a nightcap....cheers.

Why didn't this make the cut for Finding Forever?
