when the sun sets, everything changes. the sky goes black, the stars and moon make their appearance in the sky, and a blanket of silence falls upon the city ~ well, maybe not london, but you know what i mean! our home is in central london {belgravia~knightsbridge}, surrounded by a private garden on a quiet street. on some days, i like to make my way to the top floor, which is the 7th. i sleep in one of my favourite bedrooms; decorated in the style of ‘modern vintage’, half of the ceiling is massive glass window, which lets you look [...]

some people hate exercise, some people love exercise. personally, i very much enjoy going to the gym, going outside to hyde park for a run or just doing sports {tennis & skiing ~ yay!}. but i know, upon talking to some of my friends, that others would rather chew on hair than get some activity. this might be for several reasons; too difficult, not enough time, too boring, etcetera, etcetera. but exercise doesn’t have to be these things. if it is too difficult, exercise consistently and you’ll find that it’ll get easier each day. if there isn’t enough time, well, [...]

in march, at the end of the month, i am visiting russia for my spring break! it will be my first visit ~ i have never been before. my parents, however, have, during the days of the cold war. being from western and northern europe, how they got in {and out, for that matter} of an east blok country is a mystery to me. well, back then, russia wasn’t so nice. there was lots of poverty and a dark mood always hung in the air. but things have changed. although not perfect, life in russia has become a lot better. i miss the summer. london’s grey and rainy february weather isn’t very nice. lately i’ve been reminiscing about the warmer months of the year…the beautiful season we call summer . i can picture it perfectly…july of 2007. we were in greece, somewhere in the mainland. the weather was uncomfortably hot ~ on most days the mercury in the thermometer soared to numbers above 40. when in the sun, there was always a feeling of stickyness, and on some days, it was unbearable to go outside for more than 5 minutes. it seems that my genetics don’t allow me to [...]
