FMLY RIDE the other night was truly a treat. Everyone was so calm and respectful and the music was so good. Thank you all for such an amazing ride. Mick caught a few songs from POWERAXE at the second stop which you can check out below. Best version of the nation anthem ever.

I was recently in a public restroom doing things that are totally normal for a restroom when I saw this sticker. The blog These Come From Trees makes and distributes these stickers as "the world's first guerrilla public service announcement". Encase you need a refresher, here is a great public service announcement. I'm about to jump into this experiment and hopefully save some trees. They sale the stickers for pretty cheap on their website.

Dustin Wong - one mind Zomes - OK Philosophy I see life as very hard; I believe one should have a very simple, very crude and very strong moral system…. This is why there can’t be any direct violence in my films. Already in The 400 Blows, Antoine is a child who never rebels openly. His moral system is more subtle than that. Like me, Antoine is against violence because it signifies confrontation. Violence is replaced by escape, not escape from what is essential, but escape in order [...]

Tan Dollar - Friends Again If you're looking for an affordable summer trip, I recommend closing your eyes from Your Body As a Temple through Cursed . During that time our Tan Dollar buds toured the west, put their split cassette with Weed Diamond in the hands of Thurston Moore, written songs about each other for each other, broken up, left the band, become a new band, released solo material, and most importantly, shown the importance of staying friends forever. But as I'm personally on the other side of the country [...]

"Pizza Baby" is the first that any of us have [...]

So Many Wizards - Inner City If you've lived and driven in LA for any considerable time, you're familiar with the carpool lane interchange between the Southbound 110 and the Westbound 105. If you're not terrified of heights or earthquakes, it's one of the best drives in LA - for about a minute, it separates from the rest of the freeway and points drivers straight towards the sky. It was here that I first heard So Many Wizards. Their song "Fly a Kite" came on KXLU right as I made my ascent, and the [...]

sad ghems recorded a 20 minute long piece of weirded out bliss for Night Trotter during their last stop at Shwag City. Charlie and I were staying with the ghems in chicago on our way out to LA. It was the last Vacation Dad show I ever played. Needless to say, It was a pretty awesome way to go out. I don't think I know a noise band that can slay a show quite like the ghems. They were able to get the party jumpin with nothing but a mountain of guitar pedals, [...]

Teletextile - What If I Teletextile - I Dont Know How To Act Here Teletextile is an amazingly talented harpist, violinist and singer with a beautiful band. Did I mention she is a total sweetheart and super friendly? If you live in the Brooklyn area, she is definitely worth checking out live and hanging out with. The above video is her with the full band playing in a 200 year old church. If this is the first time hearing of her, I doubt it will be your last.

Michael Collins, formerly of Prince Rama, is touring in support of his aptly titled solo endeavor (MC)². We missed his set by minutes when we rolled into Total Bummer earlier this year, so fortunately Mike has been gracious to record his set from Scrumvision in Detroit to share with his friends. By the looks of it our minds would have probably melted due to sheer potency of heart being projected through his play. Watch a bunch more videos at his vimeo , tour dates after the jump, and think about how totally radical a Michael cameo would have been [...]

Then something happened which unleashed the power of our imagination. We learned to talk and we learned to listen. Brown Bread - Pocahontas Emily Reo - On The Beach Our buddy Wayne Memmer, of Vacation and the retired sounds of Fossil Cities , has embarked on the admirable project of compiling tribute albums featuring a gorgeous mix of exclusive covers from friends and folks we really dig listening to. As we type there's a Cure tribute in the works, but what I'm so pleased to share today is a collection of nods to Neil Young that are each more than loved enough to stand on their [...]
