I got this gem of a mixtape from new Bang Gang 12" signing Hey Today ! last week and it's been a great wake up mixtape to accompany my large cappuccino in the mornings while filtering the ham from the spam on my prehistoric internet connection. The mix is packed full of edits and remixes by said artist and in case you missed it the first time I posted the Vanshe Tech remix of their track 'If I Was Wonderman' a while back here . Hey Today ! [...]

If you're a keen snow boarder, or indeed any boarder for that matter then check out For Boarders By Boarders . Founded in 2006 by three friends that are well used to riding together in some of the UK's best snow parks, For Boarders By Boarders (FBBB) was born on the desire and vision to create a unique event that was based purely on the priority of having fun. "FBBB voyages to wherever they can frolic (snowdomes, dry slopes, skate parks, art galleries etc) to host events that feature live music, art, [...]

Nacey & Steve Starks / Photo by Sexy Fitsum/iLLIMETER Another artist that has recently been drawn to my attention is Nacey. His remix of Dance Area's 'AA 24/7' for Discobelle's competition got in at 3rd place and although the first and second were good, I definitely preferred the old school sample sound this track favoured. I was therfore quite pleased to get some original productions from Nacey and his party companion Starks in my mailbox this morning. Here's a bit of info about the duo. [...]

A couple of weeks late posting this I know but, I've been getting into these tracks after constant looping in my playlists. I first heard of Germany's Fukkk Offf when I heard the Zodiac Cartel remix of his track 'Rave Is King'. I initially favoured the latter but the original is an anthem in it's own right and it even had success at number 1 in the German Club Charts. Anyway, his debut album 'Love Me, Hate Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me.' was released on June 8 on NYC's Coco Machete Records and you can get [...]

Last Friday I saw 2 Many DJ's bring Radio Soulwax to Brixton O2 Academy in the form of an amazing audio visual DJ set. Each track in their set was accompanied by an animated version of the record sleeve for that particular track. It started with their remix of The Gossip's 'Standing In The Way of control' (above) and made its way through an eclectic mix of new and old edits and remixes, also adjusting the tempo at times to fit in classic Radio Soulwax moments like Dolly Parton's '9 to 5', Aphex Twin's 'Window Licker' and Vitalic's [...]

Pic: The Revenge It appears somewhat ironic after enjoying all this good weather while listening to some appetizing summer disco mixtapes that as soon as I get some time to share these with you the sun hides in typical British fashion. Not that these mixtapes need particular circumstance to enjoy I should say but, sun always makes music sound a lot better in my opinion. If you are to believe the hype then this cold spell isn't to last as we are to experience the warmest summer on record… yeah I've heard that one [...]

Tonight you can catch up-and-coming electro pop trio Fenech Soler for free at Thick As Thieves new night at the recently rebuffed Queen Of Hoxton. I actually played some records between bands back in June last year when Fenech Soler played the Old Blue Last and I was pretty blown away. Get yourself over to the Facebook event for details. Bit of a slow start to the blog relaunch I know but I've recently moved house which has taken most of my spare time. New music will be coming soon.

Do you want to be in the above photo, looking down on the masses as you warm up for the likes of Rusko, Caspa, Zinc, Raffertie and Foamo? Well here's your chance, Chew The Fat! are running a competition for you to play a set in the main room at their next event on Friday May 29th . All you have to do is make them a mixtape and get it to them no later than Monday 18th May. The best tape wins a set. Simples. Here's the info: 1. Record your mix. It can [...]

So, last Thursday Riton hosted the first of three parties to celebrate the launch of his new single. Instead of spending all the promo money on proper hype (like adverts, posters, etc.) he's flying over a medley of his closest and most talented friends to play at Plastic People , a tiny 200 people capacity club in the heart of Shoreditch, and charging just a measly £5 to get in. Last week saw 2manyDjs take to the decks for a stormer of a set. But given that it was only advertised in a [...]

Well its been almost 4 months since I posted any content here but, it's been a much needed break. Those bloggers amongst my readership will know that blogging is a laborious process at the best of times, and when it is self motivated and non paid, it does come in last as a priority to paying the bills. Hence this past few months have been incredibly busy for me working on projects with clients such as Mix Hell, Crazy P, Lady Sovereign, The Prodigy and Empire Of The Sun to name a few. I plan to update my online portfolio [...]

...just taking an unannounced break from posting as I work through this strangely busy start to the new year. Thanks to all those who have sent me material, expect updates soon. Keep em peeled.

Well another year draws to a close and it's been a phenomenal year of music. Dubstep rose up out of the underground, Justice, Crookers & Fake Blood tore into our ear's with electronic ferocity, Little Boots stole our hearts, we learned to love Soulwax just that little bit more and promoters who jumped onto the music festival bandwagon promptly fell off as punter's clung to their hard earned cash attempting to avoid the serious raping from the banks. It'll be interesting next year to see how the already troubled music industry fair's in the wake of this financial [...]
