Ah, February. The shortest of months is known for a number of things. In America, we celebrate the birthdays of a few presidents. Also groundhogs are celebrated... kind of. It is also Black History Month but most well known is the day corporate America wants you to exchange novel presents and candies known as Valentine's Day. See a collection of Star Wars Valentine's Day images like the one above featuring the dream boat Jek Porkins on this cool blog . [...]

The four-piece dream pop band Field Mouse released a new music video earlier today. It is for a new song titled "Glass". The band hails from Brooklyn, NY. This is not their first time on the site. A few months back I set up an interview with Andrew Futral from Field Mouse, among other things. There is a lot of cool information there, check it out after you watch the new video. "Glass" is a great tune, [...]

Following in a Chap Hop theme, steampunk and tea enthusiast Professor Elemental hails from jolly old England. Although he lacks the granddad's mustache and banjolele that fellow chap hopper Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer has acquired as a trademark his skills on the mic and dashing steampunk attire are simply... well... splendid! The track that I included below is from his studio album The Indifference Engine , titled "Fighting Trousers". I know what you're thinking... what an aggressive [...]

I was introduced to a new genre of hip-hop recently. It hails from the UK, a prim and proper type of music known as Chap Hop. Mr. B The Gentleman Rhymer is a leading face in chap hop. I included a video below featuring a track from his debut LP, Flattery Not Included , titled "Chap-Hop History". It is a five minute opus detailing thirty years of hip hop history, referencing well known tracks of the genre from "Rapper's Delight" [...]

We have finally arrived... the doomed year of 2012. If you're a follower of the ancient Mayan calendar and a nutcase, you had better sell all of your belongings. The end is nigh! 2011 has had its ups and downs. Literally... YSLAR has been pretty sporadically up and down all year. Hehe. I am currently on a post-Christmas vacation of sorts in Alabama visiting family. Things will soon kick back into gear on the site once I return home. In the mean time, [...]

So I've recently developed an attraction to Korean girl bands, namely Girls' Generation . These ladies are also known to international fans as SNSD , SoShi, and Sonyeo Shidae in their native Korean language. The nine piece has recorded pop hits in both Korea as well as Japan. They are currently promoting their newest single "The Boys". This video, however, is an older one from 2009. "Gee" is an incredibly catchy tune that will get stuck in your head... even if [...]

Ah yes, the return of the Six Songs post! This is a special edition of sorts, six cool Christmas songs released this season. Enjoy six songs from the likes of MC Lars , Abney Park , Random , The Energy Commission , and mc chris after the break! Amazon.com Widgets 1. [...]

So I haven't been able to share a lot of Christmas music on here this season. There are a pretty decent amount of holly jolly tracks in the site's archives, however. See, I figure you can fit more presents underneath an upside down Christmas tree. This is me thinking logically (greedily?) here. The pimp hat tree topper is just for fun however. December is always the busiest month for You Sound Like A Robot as far as traffic. Apparently you people [...]

The new album from hip hop duo Mirandom drops on Tuesday, December 20. Mirandom is the combination of styling from Random , also known as MegaRan , and Mr. Miranda . Those fortunate enough to catch the tour in Japan over the last week may already have a copy of The Memorandum . The rest of us can still grab one on Bandcamp when it comes out. In the mean time, however, check out [...]

So do you want to hear a new Christmas song? Like... an actual original song that we haven't been hearing for sixty years every December (and November lately, ugh)? Well The Crüxshadows have delivered a new song not to be missed. I know, it's exciting. "Anmi's Christmas (Red, Green, Silver, & Gold)" is an original track dedicated to the most recent addition to The Crüxshadows' family. Angelina, known as Anmi for short, is Rogue and Jessica's new baby. She [...]

So it seems that everything is up the way it should be on the website now. If you notice any errors, please leave a comment or send me an e-mail to let me know! Otherwise, I'm a happy cat. Apparently all I had to do was post about the issues . The next day everything was back up with the server! Things should also move a bit faster with the downloads after these upgrades. No hate toward FileDen , [...]

Most of You Sound Like A Robot's mp3 files have been unavailable for about two weeks now. Well, the file host that I use to host these files has been down for maintenance. Only mp3 files should be affected. The home page of FileDen has shown a message stating that the site will be down for 4-7 days, although most members will regain access to their accounts in 24-48 hours. It has been half of a month without any [...]

Have a holly jolly Chr... wait a second, sorry the Christmas tracks are starting to get to me. They are driving me insane and it's only just now December! Things have been uneventful over the past month on here. I listened to a lot of South African hip hop over the past month, a sort of new discovery for me. Check out my post with Die Antwoord 's new video . I have noticed [...]

Lately I've been into a hip hop group based out of Cape Town, South Africa called Die Antwoord . Consisting of Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er, and DJ Hi-Tek Die Antwoord has been taking the interwebs by storm since signing with Interscope Records. Their current album $O$ features a number of tracks that have been made into singles and music videos. They also collaborated with one of my favorite directors Harmony Korine who is known for making movies such as Kids [...]

I hope everyone had a good October. A lot of cool stuff happens in October each year all leading up to Halloween! Do you like my Yoda pumpkin? Well, it technically is not a pumpkin. I've heard it is a gourd, but anyway. Like the previous couple of months updates have been slow on You Sound Like A Robot through October. I have been spread thin between two jobs, school, and all of the other things that keep me occupied throughout the days. [...]

Sapphire Rebellion is the Tallahassee, FL based duo featuring Tim Curry and Jay Godin. The band has been establishing themselves as a national act in the past few years and has finally created a full length album to share. The new disc is titled Pocketful of X-Rays and is now available in a physical CD format. Keep an eye on Sapphire Rebellion.com for the disc and snag your copy. A digital release will follow eventually, however for now [...]
So as most of you have noticed, by the amount of posts about it, I recently joined The Body Bags as a bassist, but what you probably dont know is that before this, I was the guitarist for a not so known band Boy Eats Gurl Boy Eats Gurl, like The Body Bags, was a Horror Punk group, consisting of Crash-vocals, Russy(Me lol)-guitars, Pheonix-bass, and Rambo-drums. [...]

Another month is upon us, the spookiest of all... October! Check out this picture that I took from my fire pit the other day. Is that a person standing on the fire? Ooooo. Anyway, hopefully I will get to upload the site more often this month. I have been pushed to the max lately between work and school. But also fellow You Sound Like A Robot contributor Russy joined The Body Bags ! Congrats to him.

Following our interview with local horror rockers The Body Bags who were at the time without a bass player, things have worked out where friend and fellow YSLAR contributor Russy is now in the band! His first show with The Body Bags was last week. Send him your congratulations in the comments below or just get in touch with him on Twitter or something. Also check out The Body Bags on their Facebook . They rock and you [...]

We have reached the month of September, a traditionally slow month in You Sound Like A Robot history. Following a week at the craziest convention in the area Dragon*Con I have to come back and catch up on school work. On top of this I'm now working between two jobs, so free time is scarce. Anyway, let's talk about the con! I was there all weekend, from Thursday to Monday. I had a blast. I got to see a lot of [...]
