David E. Sugar is currently on a Kitsune tour and hanging with the pioneers of indie-electro. He's come a long way since he started way back in 2004, with little more than an 8-bit Gameboy as an instrument. He started out by using tracker software on a Gameboy to create sequences that he then layered over with other instruments. Sounds stupid and gimmicky? But David E. Sugar is innovative, weird and a true pioneer. His early 8-bit sound wasn't the annoying Mario-esque themetune expected. He's [...]

Danger is the elusive Lyon artist who's stirring up fuss like Justice did this time last year. With glitchy chopped up synth noises, backed by fuzzy distortion, Danger follows in the same mould as 2007's heavy bangers, but is a breath of fresh air in an increasingly monotomous genre. This track sounds significant, and looks to last, especially in compariosn to a lot of mediocrity currently churned out. DatA spice it up with a simple but effective remix: Danger - 11h30 [Pelski Highly Recommends] [...]

It was announced, i dunno, maybe a year ago. Maybe more. Shit all the way back then Tony Blair was still Prime Minister and Uffie wasn't annoying. Alot of time has passed, with baited breath waiting for this goddamned Justice Fabric mix. And then it got rejected. It was rejected because it was supposedly too short and not what Fabric bargained for. In other words Fabric were expecting apocalyptic and thumping blasts of Justice's typical electro, in order to sell to thousands of new-raving kids. The rejected mix was then given out for free as a 'Christmas Mix' at their [...]

THE 25 greatest tracks of 2007. A very hard list to compile indeed. Many of my favourites were left out, but what has been posted includes some of the funnest, dirtiest, most innovative and interesting tracks to have graced the decks and dancefloors this year: Does It Offend You, Yeah? - We Are Rockstars With hundreds of noisy Justice copycats churning out distortion-based tracks, few were [...]

A monumental year for dance music. Yes, it spawned the irritating, everywhere-in-your-face new ravers, but 'New-Rave' was just one branch of a much deeper movement: the fusion of rock and dance. A fresh and innovative wave of tunes were produced that clubbers could rock to and rockers could dance to. Here are my top ten albums of the year: 1. Digitalism - Idealism [...]

Having been incarcerated at home for the rest of the academic year (after a near-fatal car accident), i have taken it upon myself to spread my infinite knowledge of pretentious electronic music. The genre is already dispersed and scrutinized by vast throngs of scenester bloggers. The difference with this blog? I will only post the best music - none of the 'throw-away' fashionista rubbish clogging up so many blogs. The music we listen to is already being described as 'blog-house'. Fine. But [...]
